Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem

Recommended Posts

It's the singular exception to the "This card cannot be Special Summoned" clause, in that it CAN be Special Summoned. It's amusing that way. Obviously, the inability to SS was a balancing factor, same as the Ehero Fusions. A 3000/3000 piercer that prevents S/Ts from activating was dangerous in those days.

Thankfully, this isn't the anime version, which used 3 Ancient Gear Golem. 4400 ATK is scary when it has piercing and the Ancient Gear clause.

You seem to have forgoten Spell Gear and the Anime Only "Ancient Gear Statue" also work on Ancient Gear Golem, and the Rainbow Dragon can be special summoned ignoring it's effect with the card with "Rainbow Gravity"

Card would be broke if meta were slower.

if someone used power bond for this card, then used limiter removal it would have 17600 ATK. equip it with heavy machine platform(whatever that thing is called) it won't be destroyed by limiter removal. add in a prime material dragon to gain 4400 LP instead of lose it due to power bond, and you've got one scary card

You misunderstood.

Ancient Gear Golem is the only card that isn't a Nomi and specifically says "this card cannot be Special Summoned" yet has support that lets it be Special Summoned. Cards that "Ignore the Summoning Conditions" of a Nomi don't count.

Cool watermark, Black.

On the topic of it's deck, just start off with something like this:
Giant Rat x3
Ancient Gear x3
Ancient Gear Cannon x3
Ancient Gear Golem x3
Prisma x3
Earth Hex x3
Stratos
Sangan

Machine Dupe x3
Future Fusion
Power Bond x3
Ancient Gear Workshop x3

....Then just add filler.

If I'm not mistaken, he's like Scrap Dragon. It doesn't specify where he has to be destroyed for the effect to activate.

You have to Solemn Warning the card performing the Fusion Summon (Power Bond/Poly/whatever), not the successful Fusion Summon.

We're talking about it's effect when it's destroyed.
Yes, I know. But it was brought up because of THIS:

I like how his last effect gets around Solemn Warning.
Which isn't true. Solemn Warning can stop the SS of Ancient Gear Golem. And when you said it didn't get around Warning, he said:

Referring to how Scrap Dragon and LADD both SS monsters when they're destroyed, regardless of whether they were successfully Summoned.

Which is correct, this doesn't have to have been on the Field when it was destroyed. But unlike Scrap Dragon and LADD, you cannot Solemn Warning this directly. You can only Solemn Warning the card Fusion Summoning this.
