~/Coolio Prime\~
Demagogues on the right can cockblock Obama from raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires, implying this will actually affect them at all(own one mansion instead of two?), then whine when the government has no money and blame it on him. It seems like a joke, really. FEMA, Medicare, and whatnot don't focus on the economy. They do what governments were made to do - help people. Conservatives don't understand that. Darth Revan of the Sith

First, medicare isn't useless. It isn't. Fact.
First Medicare by 2017 will run out of money. Fact. Second When you get injured and recieve Social Security Benefits, Medicare will not give you Health Coverage for Two Years... Third All Medicare Part D Beneficiaries recieve 2,700 dollars worth of medications each year until they fall into the donut hole and must again pay the inflated retail prices which leads some to stop buying needed medications because of the dying economy... Sander
Cutting taxes is the worst thing to do, especially when the whole country is in debt. So logically, raising taxes (no, it won't leave to poverty, will you understand that once and for all?) will increase the money the government gets and will equal to at least getting close to getting out from the debt. Or another way to get out from the bloody debt: Stop wasting so much money on the military and useless wars.

Tentacruel
The logical thing to do would be take the least important things out of the budget and then increase taxes a bit to balance it all out. The American government however, is not capable of doing that. Luna's right. "We need to lower state spending? Let's fire teachers!"

Also, apparently Lincoln sucks b/c he made a few mistakes during the civil war, even though the Union won anyway. Oh and don't mind the abolition of slavery. NumberCruncher
I'd still like to point out John Adams took away most of the rights granted by the First Amendment
1. Abraham Lincoln His recklessness and warmongering extended the Civil War and increased the death rate of Union Soldiers... He screwed McClellan at Antietam by taking 3/4 of his army and sending them to the white house... He hired Ambrose Burnside who is the worst general in US history...
I believe you mean Grant's recklessness increased the death rate of Union Soldiers. His entire tactic as general was to flood untrained soldiers at the well-trained Confederate army and hope it put a dent in the enemy line by sheer number alone. And how do you pick Burnside as the worst general in US history when Grant's accomplance Sherman burnt Atlanta down for no other reason than he felt like it. Forget Lincoln. Grant's the one who needs to be on this list.

Dark
I love how Bush and HW Bush are on your worst list... and Obama is there, too. <___< Also, where is Buchanan on your Worst 10 list? He was a waste of a President. An utter waste. No idea why Lincoln is on your Worst 10, either. How did Cleveland make it on your Top 10? There are 44 Presidents and you couldn't think of a single one better than him? Your list... I disagree with it. And yet I'm too lazy to post my own. Lincoln never wanted to abolish slavery because he wanted to preserve the Union... The Emancipation Proclamation was a failure because he was fighting an opposing force that didn't obey him... Slavery and Segregation would have ended with or without the Emancipation Proclamation and Lincoln only did it to rally more Black People to join the army... And the fact that William Henry Harrison only stayed for a month is the exact reason he is a failure... He was told if he went out there to make a speech that he would get sick and you know what? Harrison decided to be arrogant and said no... Then he went to make the speech, got pneumonia and died... That is how much of a fool he is... I agree that Lincoln did fail at Antietem. Not only that, but because of his directions, the Union nearly lost the war after it's first battle. But Lincoln's worst mistake had to be hiring Grant for anything higher than a desk job. Grant was probably one of the worst tacticians in American history. If I were to make a list, it would go a little more like this: 10) John Tyler 9) Lyndon Johnson 8 ) Andrew Johnson 7) William Henry Harrison 6) Herbert Hoover 5) Warren Harding 4) James K Polk 3) John Adams 2) Ulysses Grant 1) Harry Truman

He did nothing for the country, good or bad because he didnt have time, so that makes him one of the absolute worst presidents ever? What about all the presidents that hurt the country? Isn't having no impact better than a bad impact?
Mehmani
Some say you cannot judge a book by its cover. I say that you can judge an idiot by his favourite American presidents. This person is clearly an idiot. EDIT: Mayhaps I ought to provide something more than an insult? Sherman was not a bad general. He was a brilliant general and one of history's greatest tacticians. I have respect for him because he realized that war was an ugly, violent thing, and those who pretend it isn't are deluding themselves. War is ugly, so use ugly tactics. Simple but brilliant. He also had a sadistic streak (and was probably a sociopath), but that doesn't change his excellent war record. Second of all, Americans care for nothing but themselves, which is why The American Dream exists and why they arrested communists. It is also why they hate all State Medical Care. The British NHS has saved millions upon millions of lives for several decades now, including those of great scientists such as Steven Hawking. Our NHS has saved me from a lifetime of muscle pain, staved off several nasty infections and has given me the blessing of fully-functioning teeth (due to a genetic condition that I have, the dentine in my back teeth doesn't even develop). Without the NHS, millions of blameless people would die or be forced to pay extortionate prices to private companies. Our NHS is the envy of the world. Obama saw how good it was and decided to give the American people this wonderful, life-saving gift. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

Flinsbon
Honestly I think Kennedy deserves a lot of credit for peacefully ending the Cuban Missile Crisis. I mean if he had made one wrong move, it would have been all-out nuclear war. It wasn't his idea to invade at the Bay of Pigs - the CIA just brought it up and urged him to allow it, after which he hesitantly said yes. Its almost like the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. FDR died and Truman took over. Then the government approached Truman and was like "hey we have the strongest bomb in the world would you like to use it?" and Truman is like "uhhhhh yeah I guess we better use it." Ieyasu Tokugawa
I don't know why everybody's praising Lincoln for freeing the slaves, he didn't give a sh*t in the first place. The only think he didn't want from slavery is for it to expand into the North, but as long as it stayed in the South, he was content.
