Reminds me of Treeborn Frog's Standby Phase rule, too, in that you can use discard effects during the Standby Phase without losing any advantage. Having more than one of these in the hand is even better if you run that kind of cards. I know it's old OCG, but if it was reprinted and the text was the same, this would be probably unbanned.
