wiithepeople Posted November 30, 2011 Report Share Posted November 30, 2011 As many people has previously thought from Light of Destruction, the Geminis seemed to be lost to the sands of time. But on June 20th, 2009, the OCG Konami folks released a new army of Gemini Warriors ready to strike opponents at anytime (hence the name Warrior's Strike). They recieved memorable cards in this deck, such as Exodius, Kuraz, Ishzark, ROTA, and Dark Factory (yet we recieved none of those when it came to the TCG). Yet those new cards gave the Japanese fans of the old subtype something to love. This wasn't slow at all. This deck was MADE for speed, as made obvious by Konami with some of the cards in here. Even though there were not a lot of new cards debuted in this Deck, they are all quite memorable still to this day. [spoiler='Phoenix Gearfried is New Card #1. It's very evident that this card is the boss monster of the deck, and it shows. 2800 ATK and 2200 DEF is good for a Level 8 non-Nomi monster. Its ability to revive Geminis by having your opponent using Spells made people think when playing against it. And when equipped with something it has a free chance to negate cards that would destroy him outright, similar to Power Tool Dragon. He may not be used in the meta, but still a great monster to utilize in this Structure Deck.']
[spoiler='Evocator Chevalier is New Card #2. The card literally speaks for itself. It has the two things that made Gemini's fans of old love about Neos Alius: 1900 ATK and Level 4. On top of that, this can be Gemini Summoned with Supervise, destroy a free card on the field with your newly acquired effect, and then proceed to SS another Gemini monster to plow your opponent down with. It was a great card to use when you didn't have Gearfried.']

[spoiler='Gemini Soldier is New Card #4. It's amazing enough that this card can't be destroyed by battle once a turn, but utilizing that to the fullest is its other effect. Bring out a Level 4 Gemini such as Evocator or Alius and you'll have a heyday with it. This card could also be nicely used with Miracle Fusion with the other Neos to form Great Tornado.']
[spoiler='Supervise is New Card #5. I find it highly ironic that highlight card of the entire Deck wasn't Phoenix Gearfried or Evocator Chevalier or even my personal favorite Gemini Soldier, but it was simply this Equip Spell. It was just too good. It made Gemini that much more exciting to play that it was in a league of its own. It even brought itself to pairing up with Gigaplant and making the ever feared "Giga-Vise" Deck that 99% of everyone here knows to this day. To give a Gemini it's effect without a Normal Summon is good, yes, but to bring back a Gemini if destroyed? That's an immense boost in itself! It was almost as if Konami made a card that single-handedly changed the look to an entire set of monsters (which is definitely no new tactic to Konami at all).']
This was the very first Structure Deck I ever bought, because I loved the Gemini monsters so much back then. It was like the old rusted carving knife in the garage you decided to clean and sharpen and use again. And I figure this was the first piece of evidence of the power creep in the game, though it may be subtle, it's easily there in the form of Supervise. Discuss. No, I shouldn't give Konami ideas ;-;
or for Normal Monsters, or for Gemenis in general. Though Gigaplant + Blaze Wing Butterfly + Superalloy Beast Raptinus kind of do that in harder-to-do way. Yeah, that's a nice idea Tank! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
