A cry for help i have been gone too long!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. I recently decided that i want to get back into the Yugioh. The only problem is the last time i actually had some knowledge of the game was roughly 2 years ago so I am in need of some help. Whats the most dominate build right now? how can i get back into the game? and will someone explain to me how things have changed? I appreciate the help. Thank You

Most dominated build? Well, don't look at the top decks right now except if you are not willing expending lots of money (by lots, I mean I could buy a car with the cost of this deck-lots). Something good now is that you could buy a decent deck buying 3 of one of the most recent structure decks. You could just go and get 3 Dark World, Agents or Machina structure deck and build yourself something good.
Have you ever heard of the Synchro monsters? Well, they are not the newest card type anymore. Now we have Xyz. If you don't know them, I can explain them for you.

Tele-DaD was a deck, then Cat was a deck, then Zombies were a deck, then Sabers were a deck and then Infernities were a deck (spoiler alert: all these decks gradually died out). Then after that Duelist Revolution came to be, resulting in giving the game several new staples (Solemn Warning, Pot of Duality, Effect Veiler, Scrap Dragon) and giving us a somewhat varied format. Then Starstrike Blast happened, giving more life into Plants and making them a bit better. Then Storm of Ragnarok came to be and made Samurai broken and "pheared by teh doolists". Also Gravekeeper and Coelacanth became decks with Gravekeeper's Recruiter and Formula Synchron being released respectively. THEN T.G. HYPER LIBRARIAN happened, which was honestly an omen for dark times to come in the format. Extreme Victory was released, giving us Reborn Tengu and Tour Guide From the Underworld which redefined Plants entirely and made them the best deck of the format. T.G. also came to be a deck and they beat Plants at the NA WCQ, even though Plants were the best deck. After the WCQ and Worlds, Generation Force was released, along with Xyzs, the newest type of monster involving you overlaying two cards of the same level and placing the Xyz Monster with the same rank as their levels from your Extra Deck on top of it. So... then Kevin Tewart went full on retard and said OH XYZ MATERIALS ARE ON THE FIELD, which then royally f***ed up the format. The format then basically became summon Tour Guide, get Sangan, overlay for random level 3 xyz, detach Sangan, search card that wins games. This continued until Konami 1up'd Tewart and canceled this, keeping the game from being completely retarded.

Now we're in the format we're in right now. Karakuri, Rescue Rabbit and Dark World became decks, Agents also became good because of Gachi Gachi Gantetsu, Maxx "C" is a staple, BLS came back from the banlist, and Plants are still the best deck, although it really has become Tengu Tour Guide Thunder King beatdown.dek

so did I miss anything

oh, and Inzektors are gonna become a deck.

really at this point the top decks you should look out for are

Plants
Dark World
Inzektor
Karakuri
Agent
Rescue Rabbit

Karakuri is not expensive, and Agent/Dark World/Inzektor aren't going to be as expensive unless you want to invest in Tour Guide

Oh, and Heroes are now HEROes.

With the adding of the last few any-attribute HERO fusions, and the soon-to-be dangerous Masked HEROes, they have a pretty good chance of becoming a better Deck than they already are.
[/quote]Still tier 2 at best IMO.

Byak summaried up most stuff, but since you might want to know the best generic Xyz for each Rank (a lot are OCG only):

Rank 10 - Gustaph Max
Rank 7 - Number 11: Big Eye
Rank 6 - The Sacred Ptolemy M7, Inzektor Exabeetle
Rank 5 - Number 61: Volcasaurus, Tiras, Keeper of Genesis, Adreus, Keeper of Armageddon
Rank 4 - Lavalval Chain, Number 39: Utopia, Daigusto Emeral, Steelswarm Roach, Gem-Knight Pearl, Vylon Disigma, Number 16: Shock Ruler, Verz Ouroboros, etc.
Rank 3 - Wind-Up Zenmaines, Number 17: Leviathan Dragon, Leviair the Sea Dragon
Rank 2 - Gachi Gachi Gantetsu, Daigusto Phoenix, Number 96: Black Mist
Rank 1 - Number 83: Galaxy Queen, Mira the Giant Star

Good non-generic stuff include Evolzar Laggia and Evolzar Dolkka (2x Level 4 Dinosaur monsters), Wind-Up Zenmaighty (in Wind-Ups), etc.
