evilfusion Posted January 19, 2012 Report Share Posted January 19, 2012 I gathered that. I just think "nerf" is being thrown around too lightly. It still does precisely what it was shown to do. While the specification of "opponent's" on the RL cards means it can't be your monster being revived to the opponent's field, I don't feel that warrants it being labeled as a nerfed effect, going solely by the implications of the anime card text. I think people just read the translated anime effect, thought of a way to abuse it, and then learned the RL effect specifically prevents that abuse, so they cry "nerfed!" So the anime artist didn't spend time thinking of every possible and unimportant technicality when drawing the text on the card for the show, which people have gone to great (and I think a bit sad) lengths to decipher and jump to conclusions. Big deal. Konami have since worked on the effect for IRL use and intentionally or not erased that loophole. Neither III nor Shark used the effect as you'd like it, so there's no real reason to believe its a nerf except by interpreting an effect that was considered an irrelevance at the time. Blake Posted January 20, 2012 Report Share Posted January 20, 2012 Except the TEXT OF THE CARD was shown in the Anime, and it was worded jar like Goyo Arguing "it wasn't used like that" is stupid, because it doesn't change the fact that it could be used like that.
