Βyakuya
Classic by William Golding. Just finished reading the book and the 1990 movie. Pretty much the best thing I read next to To Kill a Mockingbird, despite underage kids taking part in savagery and murder...
Fusion X. Denver
I thought it was chilling when I first read it.
Poor Piggy. That was a gruesome visual.
It makes you wonder how intact your sanity would be.
Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Forced to read it for GCSE or something. Absolutely hated it. Thought it was awful. Didn't think much of any of the main characters like Jack or Piggy or Simon or Ralph. Liked Roger though, what does that say about me? Disliked the ending too. I can see a lot of the symbolism and stuff but I was just never attached to them at all or pulled in by it. Probably because it was a school thing. There will always be that immortal line though...
B*llocks to the rules!
Interesting note: My dad was taught English at school by William Goulding's brother. TTR~
Read it for class this year. Recently finished a research paper on Jack. Loved it. Dunno why every one in my class hated it.
Βyakuya
I guess it's the fact of 10-12 taking part in this. I liked it because of the metaphors and motifs linked to society, as well as irony. Simon and Piggy were the best. Their deaths will be cherished. Dr. Cakey
Not awful by any means, but certainly not excellent. The imagery mostly detracts from the overall tale. Last half of the last page is the last nail in the mediocrity coffin.
I do not think it should be praised, but Golding is more aligned to symbolism in order to make his point to readers. It's really grimdark. Lazer Yoshi
I really liked this book. I can understand why people didn't like it, but I thought the story was interesting, and had some really clever metaphors. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I might. I dunno.
