Fiend/Xyz/Effect
2 Level 4 DARK monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this turn, this card is unaffected by effects of other Effect Monsters.

- Awesome artwork.
- Decent defensive effect.
- From their similar effects and Xyz Material requirements, it can be considered the opposite of "The Sacred Omega".
- The "fusion" of two former Synchro Monsters.

However...
- Unlike Omega, this fiend only protects itself.
- Sometimes it lacks the ATK to support its own effect. For instance, against Monarchs and Boss Monsters (Machina Fortress, Grapha, Hyperion, etc.).

Random stuff I noticed:
- Concidentally, it has the same ATK/DEF as "Verz Bahamut".
- Without ATK bonus, it loses a fight against Omega, whereas "Verz Castor" and "Verz Ouroboros" would defeat their "The Sacred" counterparts Pollux and Ptolemys, respectively.

How good is this card actually? You would think that this card not being generic means that it should reward DARK Decks for summoning it, but so far I have not found this card threatening (a friend is testing a "Verz" Deck and when he summons this card I can get rid of it with relative ease) and generic Level 4 Xyz Monsters are often the better choice.

In my opinion, this card only needs a mere 100 more ATK to be more useful, and 200 more ATK would be the best: with 50 more ATK than Utopia, it would become DARK's exclusive Level 4 Xyz beatstick, and being the combination of two "Fabled" Synchros such high ATK would make sense.
Of course, the ideal would be that it also could protect all the other "Verz" you control for the turn.


I know I already mentioned most of this card's flaws, but discuss anyways.

When I 1st saw when it was announced in the first moment I was like:

"OMFG NEW FABLED SUPPORT!!!111".

Then I read: "2 Level 4 [b]DARK[/b] monsters" and I was all like:

"DAFAQ IS THIS s***?"

DN has this card's effect worded differently:

Ragin should have had 2500 ATK for OPedness trolololol.

Genuinely though, another card with an identical effect with 2550 ATK would be good.

1. My bad. I meant opposite: both are Archetype Bosses, have similar ATK and you can see them clashing in the artwork of a Trap Card.

2. When I run a "The Sacred" Deck against him, Ophion doesn't help him much. He also runs some non-"Verz" monsters such as "Summoner Monk" so sometimes he is unable to summon the other 2 Level 4 Xyz Verz..


Following the thread, if Thanatos had 2550 ATK Verz Decks could rely on it instead of Ophion when facing Xyz Decks.
