OT: Card had some awesome potential but that restriction. Although it could have been perhaps too abuseable generic.

Had a lot of potential. That is, until they ruined it by having the materials as WATER as a restriction. And it's not even WATER itself! Or a Fish or Sea-Serpent or Reptile. A Beast-Warrior. Once again, it had a lot of potential, but it's ruined now -_-

Because it's not one of those "As long as this card is face-up" effects, his effect would negate himself for the turn.

Yes it does. His effect to negate his own effect won't be negated. It'll just negate himself and he'll remain with his effect negated until the end of the turn.

Exactly. But his effect to negate himself is being negated so it technically doesn't negate himself except it technically does.[/spoiler]
