At most the card would be destroying 2 monsters if your opponent isn't overextending, and for that I'd rather have immediate destruction. Hell, I'd rather have immediate destruction regardless. This card is mediocre.

Mediocre, sure, but it's not absolute trash like they're acting. It's good card design, given all the factors involved.

And it's a pressure card. It's good in different situations than immediate destruction.

Quite possibly the best situation is that the Opponent has all Xyz that can't be Chaos Xyz'd since, unlike any other type of monster which could be used as Xyz or Synchro material, they're unlikely to be removed from the field. And this card's 3000 ATK can take care of anything else.
