+ X: Target X creatures you control cannot attack or block this turn.

-X: Kicker [2R] (You may pay an additional 2R as you cast this spell.) Target X creatures you control become 3/3 colorless Golem creature tokens. They cannot attack unless this spell has been kicked.

-10: You get an emblem with “Whenever a player casts a spell, draw a card. If it is a creature card, put it into play. It gains haste. Destroy that creature during the End Phase.”

It doesn't matter.
X is any integer right now, you have nothing to count for it.
So -X, +X, those will be different numbers, they can be any.
You need to put limits on them.
Look at the Sun's Zenith Cycle, or Consume Spirits.

Well the +X effect is limited by the number of creatures you control at the time of activation...wait no...those are costs, he can pay whatever he wants...Yeah +X is stupidly broken idea...

-X is more common...and means he pay with any amount of loyalty

It is weird but it work kinda...

Also...the Kicker in the middle effect is totally out of place...Kicker is an ability that only works on Spells being cast...

Not sure how your theory of +X being a limitless "cost" is relevant, cause X is, in fact, limited to the amount of creatures I control.
Not really I thought that too...but being a Cost you can pay any amount of X without taking care of hw many creatures you control...because the ability only checks the number of creatures you control upon resolution...therefore you can pay +Infinite...even if you control 1 Creature
