[Aporia Day] Meklord Emperor Wisel

It's probably one of the best of the Machine Emperors, although I still dislike its art compared to Granel and Skiel. The head seems awkward compared to the shoulder.

The greatest acheivement of the Machine Emperors is not only did they get released, but their Summoning Condition is generic (any monster dying by effect) and they've got decent-to-good effects that remain true to the anime versions to some degree. Wisel, for example, has Wisel Top 3's negation effect, although it only works on Spells.

Being Level 1 with 2500 ATK and DEF is unheard of, although its only real advantage is immunity to Gravity Bind. Spell being a crucial component to most Decks makes the negation rather nasty. The ability to absorb Synchros is left intact, and gaining their full ATK. There is no limit to the number of Synchros it can absorb, only that you can only attempt to do it once per turn. All excellent.

Being Level 1 also gives it support in the form of Mystic Piper, and while other monsters cannot attack, this card, similar to Malefics, this card is decent enough anyway.

Unfortunately, Synchros aren't that common anymore, and when they were, Wisel wasn't that special anyway, because most Synchros that were brought out had a method of getting rid of Wisel. It was often too difficult to bring out a Machine Emperor reliably against a Synchro monster in order to absorb one. Scraps and Malefics can pull this card off well, but at the same time, Scraps don't really WANT to use this because they can swarm out Scrap Synchros and this card slows them down, even if they get nice protection from Spells.

I liked using it in Malefics, and games were occasionally won by Summoning a Malefic w/o a Field, and then dropping this when they self-destructed, absorbing their Synchro afterwards for game. 2500 DEF is also pretty good for stalling against a 2500 monster.

While less Synchro-reliant than Granel and Skiel (although Granel is potentially a huge beatstick), Wisel doesn't quite have the right punch that it needs to be competitive. Limiting the use of Spells is fantastic, but the ATK and Summoning Condition makes it less reliable than something like Laggia or a Stardust.
