Agro
http://www.konami.com/yugioh/blog/?cat=167 So turns out there was a YCS this weekend that no one payed attention to. YCM Weekly
[background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Reports Indicate that YCS Chicago Did In Fact Happen[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)][/background] Somewhere near Chicago, IL [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]- Yes folks, despite popular belief, we are getting reports now that a Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series did, in fact, happen in Chicago, Illinois. It had only been rumored around the net up until this past week or so, but as it turns out, those rumors are, indeed, true.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]This will certainly come as a surprise to those just finding out about it, seeing as most people simply thought that this was one normal weekend with no chance of a YCS. The citizens that we talked to where completely baffled by the news.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]"A YCS? This weekend? I don't believe it!" exclaimed one unsuspecting woman coming back from the Chicago area with her two teenage sons who had, unknowingly, gotten caught up in the mess. "I didn't even know Chicago existed! Sure, we’d been driving through some forests way back, but I didn’t realize we were in a place like Chicago, my goodness!”[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]For those who may not know, a “forest” in Illinois is also known as a “city” in most other parts of the world. Since they don’t actually have any trees in Illinois and everything is made of concrete, they just decided to hand the word off to the next closest thing.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Konami has been surprisingly transparent through the process, handing out any and all information necessary to truly determine the location and scope of the event. They were, however, very slow with the information.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Many citizens around the internet have used this slow stream of information as a chance to call Konami’s coverage of the events “lax” and “terrible”, but many professional analysts have countered that theory, stating that this couldn’t be the case based on Konami’s clear record, pointing to past business decisions.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]One analyst painted it clearly. “While it may be Konami’s incompetence that led to the lack of knowledge about the event, the more likely conclusion is that of deceit. I believe Konami is trying to hide something.”[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Many more have started to wonder if Konami decided to abandon the YCS in favor of putting emphasis on the sneak peek of their next booster pack, Galactic Overlord. This accusation, however, has come into question as many think that such a business decision seemingly based in profit isn’t very like Konami.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Word is still coming in about the impact and aftermath of this harrowing event. As if to add insult to injury, more recent reports even state that a Dino Rabbit deck managed to come out of the ruckus and take the event.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Many doctors have kept this word from patients who were traumatized from the first day of the event. Our very own, in house physician, Dr. Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon explained that, “the events have certainly taken their toll on the populace, even I have seen some of my relatives and close friends come through the hospital doors.”[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]After spending time at the hospital the widespread ruin was obvious. HEROs, Dragons, Inzektors, Gravekeepers, even other Dino Rabbit players were carted in one by one. The alarm signals of what one could only describe as ‘ambulenceroids’ were blaring non-stop.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]“There’s so much chaos, so much damage done to the majority of my patients that I truly worry about what learning the result of the YCS could do to their health.”[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Sources indicate that sign-up for this even occurred this past Friday, the 27th and the YCS itself may have occurred sometime between 2 A.M. on Saturday and 10 P.M. Sunday, but confirmation on those times has still not been made.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]“I truly can’t believe that actually occurred,” one duelist who had taken part in the event told us late Sunday evening, “I was just standing around one second, scheming my next major plot. The next, a full-blown YCS had started. I did not even see it coming! And I am GRAPHA, DRAGON LORD OF DARK WORLD!”[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]There were only a select few of the participants that we spoke with that truly knew that a YCS was occurring at the time. The unfortunate few that did were forced, some against their will, to compete in 11 rounds of swiss before any of them were allowed to leave.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]“I was really happy that they told me to go after the last round of Swiss.” One of the lucky duelists who had escaped the YCS told us. “I can only pray for the ones that remained. It must have been rough for them.” ■[/background]
So, I guess discuss Dino Rabbits Dominating.
Manjoume Thunder
>rabbit still the best deck >dragons getting as much top32 spots as rabbit and inzektor >heroes underperforming tell me more about how the removal of priority destroyed rabbit and dragons
This Account is Unplayable
I didn't get why people thought Rabbit would suddenly drop off the face of the Earth. Although I did expect Inzektors to win. :s So, how many weeks before Konami post decklists?
Agro
Dino Rabbit simply saw less play and less of them topped. If you'll recall, there were a ridiculous amount of them that used to top, taking up around half of the top 32, this time they only had a fourth, which was the same as Inzektors and Dragons, the two decks that basically lose to Macro Cosmos. Dragons also survive on giant-ass beatsticks and monster effect revival, so it makes it hard for other decks to keep taking them out over and over and over again. Inzektors can do it well enough, but they essentially need Dragonfly every turn for over 3 turns, something they don't really manage. I find the most interesting part about this event was that Wind-Ups and Dark World were no where to be seen. It was quite fascinating. In fact, by the looks of it, one could almost say that Wind-Ups have been replaced by Chaos Dragons.
TheTurtleOnceCalledGod
Wind-Ups have probably dropped to tier 2 at this point. HEROes are effectively Antimeta. Dark Worlds are sided against the same ways as Inzectors, thus both can be weakened. Hieratics and Chaos Dragons are better than a lot of people (stares are certain YCM members) think. I expected rabbits to die, but instead they simply weeded out the weaker ones such that only the most fit amongst them survived. And the deck is cheaper because of LOLPANICITSUCKSNOWRAGE11111111ONE
Not-so-Radiant Arin
It wasn't broadcasted as much because it wasn't the 100th YCS Anniversary. And also, how very satirical.

Call it Inzector Meganeura, give it 2050 ATK points and 50 DEF, and of course Light, for more Chaos-fodder.
Agro
Turns out the only dude who topped with HEROs at Chicago is from my locals. Let's see if Chris rages.
Why? He had some weird choices (maining 2 MST and 2 Super Poly and siding Wildheart) but I see no reason to flip out. Props to the guy for topping with the coolest deck ever.
