probably King of TCG will fall under that category Static, even though i would like more awards in the TCG area... but that will have to do for now

 

anyways there is 5 current people on this council (Dj-Osiris, Lord Sheogorath, OldMaster, Tkill93 and Azuh)and i believe we should post the awards in 5 different and most popular areas around YCM

 

1 in Realistic Cards (DJ-Osiris)

1 in General

1 in TCG (Lord Sheogorath)

1 in Showcase or Shops/Requests

1 in ??? <--- Not sure

 

putting them around each and every forum will probably be too much... but at lease like this... we can all take one position each...

Ah actually wait a Tick, would we each be posting a thread on april 1st in our section about the awards, then once its over, tally the results and add them to each others to find the winners?

 

is that the general Idea?

 

as im on Holiday 2nd-6th of April, and i only have a small chance of internet access within that time.

 

So my adding etc. may be a bit rushed towards the end.

I was hoping like something like

 

April 1st to April 3rd is nominations -> April 4th we count the nominations so we can update our threads -> April 5th to April 8th is voting -> April 9th we count the votes and announce the winners

 

that was my plan... but i want to hear every other council's view on a stratergy... and with you being away.. we might have a few minor problems

It looks to me that they've increased every month up until February, where the decline can be blamed on my leaving half way through, and a lack of advertising.

 

We need to close these awards now (Ty' date=' please close the March Awards Topic), and either count them (which I think would be a waste), or excuse ourselves from bothering with them (just discount them enitrely), and get work on planning April's, fixing the system and the categories.

I disagree with discounting them, they have been held so they need to be there. The old awards thread was made to document the history of the awards, and since this thread is a carbon copy of it the same must be done.

 

I've recounted the awards (since KA made numerous mistakes, and stopped halfway through), and added them for you. I've also tidied up the first post, removed the "spot open" from the title, added February to the archive, locked KA's thread, changed next scheduled awards from "March 1 - 7" to "April 1 - 7", replaced "KA Flame" with "Azuh" on the active members list, added KA to former members, and finally, added a "Special Thanks to Frunk" line, because honestly I think I damn well deserve it. Anyone who is a part of FrunkSpace knows exactly why.

 

I'm not back, friends, and nor am I hostile. I still consider things like fixing up the archive my responsibility, and thus becomes this.

If anyone has any problems with that, feel free to count them yourself. There were ties, and as was done in the September '07 awards, they were left in. If the council wants to change this, do so at your own will.

The fifth should be News, I know for a fact that topics there get the most views (for example: The Rules has nearly 2,000 replies in News as opposed 800 in General). The thread would have no competition in News, and thus a large turnout is more than expected.

 

I suggest as follows:

 

Realistic Cards - DJ Osiris

General - Tkill93

TCG - Lord Sheogorath

Showcase or Shops/Requests - OldMaster

News - Azuh

 

If you choose News, I don't know if Azuh is the best person for it due to his business out side of YCM, so maybe Tkill would be better suited - This part is up to you as the council to decide anyway. I don't know if OldMaster is adamant in GD (by adamant I mean is he actually active there, an example on inactivity would be his use of this thread), so if that is not the case then you'll have to figure something else out.

btw... im not a council member yet until my trial is up. If i change the awards in a way... either good or bad... the council decides my fate on here

Either way, KA's not, and since you're doing more than OldMaster, that should make you a council member (considering HE is).

 

No offence, OldMaster, but it's not hard to contribute, and if you can't contribute, step down and give the position to someone who will.

i think the thread in the GFX section should be posted in the Showcase since that section gets the most views out of all 3 and pherhaps if oldmaster isn't there sushi can post them cause he might not be a council member but he is the mod and his posts generally get more attention, so you might have to go and ask him if Oldmaster cant.

I quit graphicing for a wile, true. but I wouldn't spotlight my inactivity in the Counsil. There was a time I was overloaded, yeah. The past four days, I've got a long weekend + my birdthday party. I'm sorry for not announcing it.

 

So, about the Awards.....I'll be glad to post them anywhere, whereever you want. Showcase will be a good one, people know I'm not a bad graphicer. But.

I don't know about the actual need of more threads. Sure, you get more people voting, but it will be also much harder to count the votes. Also, you still have people who will post in 2 or more threads and maybe even with different votes! How do you suspect to figure out the right ones? Also, by having one single thread, we may get less votes, but we also limit the amount of members we maybe do not want to vote, like new ones. The elite knows about the Awards, and will mostly vote fairly.

true, but if we put a restriction people will rave and noobs will still ignore it, perhaps the members need to be a month older then when then when the awards are held so they know what they will be voring at?

obviously, OldMaster... we somehow need a new appraoch to things... thats why i reckon we should also increase the days of the awards to 9 instead of 10 (as stated above).

at least we get a day to count the nominations through PMs for a day, and votes aswell. If obviously this doesn't work.. i'm all out of ideas
