Bahamut - Envoy of the End
Giant Assailant is what it's going to be changed to? That... really doesn't work IMO. For me an assailant is, well... ... a 'sneak up behind ya and knife ya in the back/thorat' kinda guy, not a twenty foot tall behemoth with a great buzzsaw and cannon in its chest. I mean even the sporting phrase "a giantkiller" is common enough and sorta, lossely fitting if you push it. I love Giant Killer though.
CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
it's rather neutral change imo. Giant Killer/Assailant render the meaning the very similar.
Blake
... Are you guys seriously complaining? Assailant means, literally, someone who attacks. Killer means, literally, someone who kills. Connotations aside, given what can and cannot be done in a CHILDREN'S CARD GAME, why would you complain about a cool name like assailant when you Would have had to have been deluding yourself to believe "Killer" was gonna be kept? Btw, how is THIS an assailant, then? It's not like Night or GK Assailant, it has a blooming sword for real fighting. Not to mention the fact that "assailant" is used in news reports to mean anything from a petty thief that threatened with a knife to a full blown assassin. I'm just shocked that the first two replies to a good/easy to live with name change are a complaint and a copy complaint. Still, card's my favorite Number.
Wasn't massively complaining, it just doesn't really... settle with me compared to other possible name changes. I know assailant is just an alternative of the same word and can be used for any terms of aggressor, its just assailant usually strikes me as a stealthy bloke. That's just me. D.D Assailant you mentioned, but he still looks like a ninja, just a ninja armed with a bigass sword. For something that is hardly discreet in its method of destruction, I think something else might been better suited. Destroyer? Devastator? Even Giant Doll or some variation of. That's just me and its not something that merits a huge argument, but wasn't the reason this thread was created because of news its appeared on wikia... with a name change? ...then you complain that people are debating the name change? Anyway, as I did mention in my original post as well but will expand on, one of the better Numbers. Getting and will get easier to put in various decks as cards that increase monsters levels become more plentiful, and more effective to include as Xyz overtake Synchros in general use. Canopy Star - Eon Sphere
You know, I actually don't mind the whole 'Giant Assailant' thing, but I really didn't like the term 'Gimmick' when it first came out. It just sounded a bit silly really, despite having seen the definitions (which are pretty cool). On the card itself, it would be nice with a bit more ATK, but it is interesting and it's effect does work well in the meta. I like to run one in any deck that could get out multiple Level 8 monsters. CNo.101 S.H. Death Knight
my only concern is if the rest of Gimmick Puppet cards will be released but looking the past 2 sets, it almost implied they won't then. I did wonder if Konami think they look "Creepy" for a children's game.
DARKPLANT RISING
I think the Gimmick Puppets will be OCG'ed in a way like the T.G. They'll come out all at once in a set several months from now.
evilfusion
Honestly, I dont care if we never get Gimmick Puppets. They're not that special. They're essentially an archetype that has very low stats and spam Level 8s. That said, 3 Numbers are going to be Gimmick Puppets, 2 of them have already been released. So the archetype COULD be released in the future, but I'm not that invested in the archetype. OOPArts were a fascinating archetype with a semi-diverse strategy, but Gimmick Puppets are just a low stat Level 8 spam archetype. What I am hoping for is OOPArts getting some more of its support. There's still a small handful of III's cards that haven't been released. And thankfully, V didn't have an archetype, or it'd be competing for space in packs, too. Tron's Heraldry Beasts are going to NEED to be supported since they made Number 8 archetype-specific. As for this card, it's one of my favorite Numbers, because it's actually pretty good. It deals full burn if it kills an Xyz, can kill 2 Special Summoned monsters, and its stats aren't terrible. 2500 DEF is pretty solid, and 2 Level 8s isn't that hard to fulfill. Jord200
So does the fact we have an English name mean that it won that contest to detemine the next Shonen Jump Alpha Promo? OT- I remember how everyone hated this thing at first. Thank goodness for buffing up cards.

Wildflame
Don't really like the name change. About the card itself, it would be better without the "during the Main Phase 1" part, gotta kill those Gorz
WhoAreYou?
Lol at the whole debate about killer/assailant.
~British Soul~
i'm not bothered about the name change tbh, sure Giant Killer was a cool name, but then again Giant Assailant is just as good. Giant Assassin would've been cooler than the latter though OT: one of the better Numbers with a neat effect and nice stats, and i would use this in DWs once it comes out...or to be more accurate in my eyes, once its legal for use in the UK
