Also, I agree, this site is dying. I don't know why, but I personally think the switch from MyBB to IPB had a big impact. That made a lot of members leave and is less user friendly to people who are viewing for a first time, It just looks messy.

I guess you're talking about the design, but I don't know. The switch never bothered me that much, it just happened and I grew used to it.

Not related to you, but I just wanted to mention it, since it's there.
I'm not part of the people who sob in nostalgia and think about "the good old days", but if there's one thing I'd miss, it's the community atmosphere and politeness. The majority of the active members post like the reply on the screenshot and it's passable if one person or a few do it [i]occasionally[/i]. I'm all for calling a spade a spade, but seriously, it's not that cool, especially when most of the site starts posting in the same arrogant-Iknowbetterthenyall way.

But that's about the only change I noticed. The site has always had its rises and drops of activity. People grow older and lose interest into Yugioh or this forum, but a few months later, there's usually another wave of members coming in. I can't name a single member with consistent activity since 2007/08, except maybe Yin.

If the drop is a bit longer this time, then I guess it would be nice if YCMaker added those xyz things. I really doubt that unbanning some random members will change the world, since Kitty and Rodrigo are around now. It's fine and all, but I don't see the huge burst in activity that some people were predicting. Dog King was banned for having a pages long warning record full of flaming and trolling (also racism). Welche was banned upon agreement of the mods team and for being a general nuisance after his 5 or so "last chances". I never noticed Mage, but from what I heard from other mods, he was terrible enough. Sure, be good at Yugimonz, but if you can't behave yourself here, then go explain your TCG rules somewhere else.

It's because there is nothing to post about, We can post a lot about the site losing activity because its happening. Nothing else of interest is happening. If there were Xyz cards, for example, people would post Xyz cards more and build on sets etc. (generally bring activity) and there would be content to post on. Everything is moving too slowly. I could spam Realistic Cards and Post 10 new topics of my cards, but I'd be waiting a few days to have them all replied to let alone have a decent discussion being built up.

This is so annoying. You come back here after being away for a while and realise someone you know isn't here, or you think they aren't. After a few days (or weeks) you suddenly realise that Derpity Dog has become Saznakov. People changing their names to completely different things is confusing.

Also, I have no idea who Darth Browarod is so unless he has changed his name, he's gone. But it's 50/50.

I was hoping for a lot of improvements when YCMaker made FP and admin, but that quickly turned to nothing.

Oh, and for anyone who is going to leave forever, at least drop your msn or skype in your profile so your friends who have already left can return and find you. And yes. Name changes need to stop.

Frunk is by far the WORST active/semi-active mod on the forum. He's done nothing but get members like Ragnarok unbanned and troll members like J-Max, only to ban him for maybe hinting that he might one day threaten him but not really so he's a pedo bye, leaving the mess for others to clean up which caused MORE issues.

I definitely do miss older YCM, but then again, I don't miss who I was back when I joined.

I remember the times when Meti was active here, Larxene was Clariex, and a whole other load of members that I knew and loved were active here and contributed to making side forums where we formed a nice, tight community. I felt more involved back then.

How times have changed. It's weird that I still get back on here when there's barely any remnants of when I actually loved YCM and its community. I think when Larxene's activity died, is when my fascination for this site died too.

The name changes are so hard for me to keep up with, as I only come on every couple of months. But Scott left a while ago, I think you might still be able to catch him on MSN (I never go on there anymore either), but you'd have to ask me to ask him first.

Anyway, there's one thing confusing me here. What is it about 2009-2010 (as great as it was, and yet 2008 was better), that we can't do now? It's not like the older members were the only ones with the ability to come up with ideas and post them. It's just people saying one thing and then not actually [i]doing[/i] anything about it. Plus, there's that other site that lets you make Xyz Monsters; if people think Xyz's are the real reason for no activity, then go make them there, and post them here, or something.

Thanks for being a prime example of the username issue, I had to go check who you were... but hey Star! How come you aren't on the staff team anymore? Haven't kept up with anything like that! Surely there's no way that WWE Legacy is [i]still [/i]going right?

Oh, I'm sure they're all perfectly capable, it's just a matter of finding common interest and posting a lot about it. I think the main issue from what I gather is that no-one here really feels like they're part of a close-knit community; they've been on this site for a long time, they've already made the friends that they wanted to make and that's now all been and gone. Not a surprise that they'd miss that, but there's no reason that the new community can't be just as good. Unless you're all boring, but lets hope that's not the case. Xyz monsters being a reason for lesser activity is definitely silly, I didn't used the Card Maker after my first two months of being here and I've made plenty of posts.

I'd say it's more down to the fact that Yu-Gi-Oh just simply isn't as popular as it used to be. Are there people that actually watch Zexal?

Oh shush. Nowadays, I follow the 90-day username policy just like everyone else. But it's nice to see my reputation still precedes me.

I can understand that feeling, though. I don't really have much in lieu of "friends" on here anymore, as I did back from 07-09, and the only people that are still friends are those I keep up with on MSN like Umbra and such; most of the members of our prime activity period have pretty much left, but there's still some cool people and I do enjoy the site so I try and encourage activity where I can. Can't always be as interesting as it was during the Sartorism era, eh?

As for ZeXal, I actually quite enjoy the show myself, despite not always getting around to watching it. It's somewhat refreshing after how much of a disappointment 5D's was and I'm not sure that's the reason for the lack of activity.
