Since the bonanza cards aren't out in English yet, I was going to refrain from making this topic until they were, but as I was playing around on DMG today I was harassed by a Watt user for "Being A Hoe And Using Lavals" [sic]. I generally don't see many playing them, and surely it's because of their lackluster occidental presence. I'm curious: How do Lavals (that seem to be the last haven of Synchros) stack up against the other decks of the format? Does the lack of TCG exclusives help them in the format? And what of FIRE's Fox News style "fair and balanced" ace in the hole card? If Lavals get hit, it doesn't seem that Synchros will survive. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

[/quote] Katon is beautiful against Dark World, Lightsworn, Inzektor and Wind-Up. Flamvell Counter is good against Final Countdown. Lakeside Lady is good against Dino Rabbit. Stennon rocks Geargia. [/quote] You can EZwin with it, but it requires adding some derpcards to the Deck because otherwise it'll be Level 5 and 7 spam until you draw Searing Fire Wall. Molten Transmission Field -> Rekindling is awesome since you dodge the waiting period, but again it requires stuff like Magma Cannoneer and Lancelord to work. newhat Posted July 12, 2012 Report Share Posted July 12, 2012 Dust Chain is a Deck that uses Dust Knight (Sandcloud Knight) with Iron Chains Repairman and Coil, along with EARTH monsters that work in the Graveyard (Dandylion), to make Naturia and other Synchros. FIRE doesn't really get as much representation as a lot of the other attributes, and it's definitely awesome, so I'm trying to raise awareness. Like I said, even online with both OCG and TCG cards, I really never see them (or Flamvells) played. As far as I know, Aggro is also very knowledgable about them. I think Rekindling prevents Konami from making a lot more generic FIRE support, such as Bonfire, which would have been awesome. I have to wonder what they were thinking when they first drew it up. Anyway, it's kind of a shame that mainstream Lavals don't really have a use for the new Fire Star Lord Synchros. Maybe I'll make a less "meta-hoe" variant using them. I play mostly online, so I don't really see decks broken down by format. It's not something I think about at all. What else to say about Lavals... hmm... it's the cute ones that are Tuners, they all actually seem to be the same girl, just in different life-stages. FIRE could stay competitive if it had a weaker version of Rekindling, like, up to 3 monsters, or even just 2, but without anything like that, the grave setup would be really lackluster.
