What would you be able to copy?
Utopia? You'd just summon your own.
Maestroke? It's only good for a BoM at that point.
Laggia? Summon would most likely be negated, same with Dolkka.
Zenmaity? lolnope
Only really good target is Zenmaines.

But then why wouldn't you just summon Pearl and hit over the Leviathan, and keep the third level 4? It's situational at best. The only reason it was so prevalent in the Numbers tourney was because everyone was using decks based around their Numbers, which are all Xyz. Because the Numbers are so versatile in their effects, Skill Gainer had a few chances to shine.

OT: So we now have TWO monsters with this effect, am I right in saying that? One is more generic and the other is easier to bring out?

Gainer doesn't dap the other monster. He only gains; he does not remove. Heraldic DNA Demon steals their ATK and effect. But DNA Demon is not permanent.

What the hell is Heraldic DNA Demon? You mean Genome Heritor, who isn't generic (except in a Tourney where only 1 person has access to him at a time)?

Actually had one in my extra for the tourney, because I needed cool stuff to put in after removing the extra Numbers. I never summoned him sadly (although I did get to use Gagaga Gunman, and it won me a game =D)

Anyway...y u only target Xyz
