thekazu4u
So on pojo there is this thread where everybody is going crazy. You guessed it, about harpies. They say they need a synchro, or an Xyz. When really none of this is necessary. They just need to stick to their same old idea of harpies and not corrupt them with any of the new cards changing their playstyle. All they really need, is this. If 1 Spell or Trap card would be destroyed: You can target 1 monster on the field; Destroy that card instead. This card's name is treated as "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard. On summon, if you have the field spell, you can destroy a monster or a spell or trap. Your field spell is essentially unkillable by MST because you can always redirect it to one of their monster (or if you really need to, one of your own.) This is all konami really needs to print to make Harpies at least mildly competitive. Although it needs a better name.

Idk, my big-ass YCM folder with billions of pictures in it.
WhiteDarkness
A synchro or xyz would be interesting, actually. Nice card.
Bobbyman46
I feel like the fact that you can use it all the time is pretty dumb. it makes MST and Heavy Storm destroy monsters. Maybe you should make it have its effect when you control another face-up "Harpie Monster"...like... "Once per turn, while you control another face-up "Harpie" monster: When a Spell or Trap card you control would be destroyed; you can target 1 face-up monster on the field and destroy it instead." Or something like that. And I like the mix of Raiza and Harpie Queen XD. 7.5/
Strider Tigerwolf
The real big problem with Harpies was just the clause that they are treated as "Harpie Lady" in the Deck, which limits their numbers severely. However, being able to alternate from Spell/Trap destruction to Monster destruction is a flexible concept that they would <3. On the downside though, it can turn Heavy Storm into a second Dark Hole if need be which might be somewhat broken, and Night Beam turns into a non-chainable set destroyer with more targets (bye bye Ryko and several Flips). The "While you control another "Harpie" monster" clause sounds like a good way of limiting it.
thekazu4u
Uh, It doesn't turn heavy storm into anything but heavy storm. The card reads: "[background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]If 1 Spell or Trap card would be destroyed", i.e. not 2 or more.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]So unless your field spell is the only spell/trap out,[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]it isn't going to work with heavy storm.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Not all harpie ladies are treated as the same name in deck; see Harpie Queen.[/background] [background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]A good build of harpies doesn't need more than 3 Harpie Ladies tbh, they are just beatsticks, really.[/background] The good one is Harpie Queen, which doesn't add toward the limit anyway. Love of Ghibli
3 Cyber Harpies (or #1's...ugh) and 3 Queens Everything else is filler That being said I love the card it just turns the field into a super killing machine which is fine since they are still in no way competitive with broken meta. Secondly harpies aren't even good enough for any custom card (that isn't insanely overpowered) to have limits. Name wise I would just point out that Harpie's tend to all be girls so something like Empress, Dutchess, or German word for lady (since in the show their names were German for 1, 2, and 3). P.S. Harpies are a slew of multiplying level 4 birds it would be nice for them to have an Xyz for themselves lol

thekazu4u
Lol. Maybe I will change it to harpie empress, because I took the style from Raiza who is a monarch.
Coblajo
Making it a mandatory effect would make it more balanced as well. For example if they have nothing on the field and then mst your hunting ground, it has to destory it self or hunting ground.
