Well, here is a basic guide on "How to get free stuff"

 

What is Ripping?

 

Ripping is making an online trade with a user, but not sending the part you told them you were going to, and in turn, getting their stuff for free.

 

Example: I tell someone I will trade them A Dark Armed Dragon for their Magical Stone Excavation. They agree and send Magical Stone to me. However, if I was ripping, I would not send Dark Armed to them, and essentially get a free Magical Stone.

 

So How Do I get this Free Stuff?

 

Its actually quite simple children, you just join a site like TCGplayer, Yugioh Forums, Pojo, or the like, you get a friend(s) to make a fake "Reference(s)" for you, so that you look more trustworthy, and then trade with people with less references than you in hopes to get their items.

 

* Please note, you can also trade signed common for signed common if you want to get more references but not risk losing anything valuable.

 

What are "References"?

 

References are what trading sites use to determine how trustworthy a person is to trade with. The player with the lower reference count (Positive refs - negative refs), has to send first to the higher referenced person, because they are deemed less trustworthy. If you can make it seem like you are a more trustworthy trader, then people will be more willing to send more cards to you, and I think you can figure out how that is good.

 

Positive and Negative References

 

Self Explanitory, someone will leave you a negative one if you do not send them your stuff, and a positive one when they get your stuff. Of course, you should be getting making a lot of trades at once when you don't plan on sending to anyone so that the negatives don't pop up when you haven't already planned on receiving a large quantity of items.

 

"Mail Fraud"

 

On this subject, please note.

 

This is technically illegal, but there are some loopholes.

 

* A minor cannot agree to a binding contract without a parent's permission, so anyone under the age of 18 cannot have mail fraud filed against them.

* The federal government is not going to bother with someone who obtains Yugioh cards over the internet.

* Along with the above, Ripping off money WILL attract their attention, be safe, AVOID IT.

* Ebay requires that you claim you are at least 18 years of age before you join. YOU SHOULD NOT USE EBAY TO RIP, nor any other site that requires you to be 18 to join.

* Admitting to Ripping what you did on the place that you did it is not a good idea.

 

Stay Safe, and let booty be shipped to you.

Oh, if this gets locked, I would ask that this entire message is removed prior, as it really is just a joke, and I really don't want someone knocking on my door telling me that telling someone how to break a law is serious business. It really is just for Lulz anyway.

Seriously! Even when people are told something like this they will still fall for Dodgy Scams! For this very Entertaining Guide I salute you! :D

 

If I wanted too, I could explain how to NOT get ripped. Well, I don't feel like being elaborate, so here it is.

 

* Ask for pics of the cards. if they cannot, and you have to send first, its dodgy enough to be a scam.

 

* Offer mod trade, most rippers will just leave you alone, or say "No". However (and I know only two that do/have done this), a ripper can give you a convincing lie, and say they will do it anyway, and if you don't actually want to, you can still get owned if you send.

 

* If they have JUST a little more refs than you, make some trades and try to up them, if they don't want to trade anymore, then clearly they were a ripper. Rippers usually get their refs up to a certain point (usually between 2-10), and then just make offers to a lot of people in hopes to get lots of stuff, so be wary (just careful, not all new/low ref members are rippers) of new traders too.

 

* Offer too good to be true? It probably is.

 

Use your head when trading, it can save you a lot of trouble.

I admitted my "heres some advice so you don't get ripped" was vague.

 

If you must know, I won't believe it unless there is a piece of paper on top of DMoC that says "Crab Helmet" when the picture is taken.

I remember seeing someone fall for a really basic Scam. Remember those *Ahem* Explicit Dark Magician Girl Pictures People Created? Some scammers started to turn them into Cards and sold them on Ebay! Heh i remember the Bidding Prices.... Good God The Prices.... I would show one of the Pics here but it's just too Explicit! :D

I swear, you kids these days. You should learn to be more respectful and trusting of your elders. You know, back when I, Wilford Brimley, was your age, we never were so damn paranoid about this sort of thing. No, that's because our generation was a good and trustworthy one, unlike these new kids that spend all their time skating around on these new-fangled skates and shoplifting from convenience stores. They should all be working in the coal mines like we did, yes sir.

 

Instead, these kids are trying to prevent all trades because they're so scared that they'll have something stolen from them that they stole from that one shop anyhow. This sort of crap is going to completely prevent all trade, which will destroy the capitalist system. Yes sir, I predicted well in advance that communists would try to take over America, and now they're doing it through these kids who are so damn stupid that they don't know any better because they're too busy mugging people to actually go to school.

 

Of course, it all started after we won the war, you know. Since the commies realized that we were too strong to attack directly, they tried to infiltrate our nation through the young people. Then all these damn hippies appeared who tried to destroy the capitalist system be wearing long hair and colorful shirts. Fortunately, we managed to get rid of most of them by sending them on a one-way trip to the 'Nam, which was perfect because we were using the crap that the communists had created to defeat the communists themselves. That's what you kids would know as irony if you actually understood anything, but since you don't, you'll just have to take my word what a mighty blow that was to those Russian commies.

 

But now the next generation is becoming communist too, except that instead of trying to be communist through those subversive methods like long hair, they're just being communist because they aren't smart enough to know any better. Because they spend all their time stealing things, they're going to destroy the entire capitalist system if they aren't stopped. That's why they should be put in the coal mines like we were back before the war. We built character in those coal mines, yes sir, and we made money off of it too, so we didn't need to hijack buses in order to get from one place to another. Then these kids would be able to buy the damn pieces of cardboard that they want so badly, so they wouldn't need to steal all this crap, and they wouldn't be a threat anymore. Unfortunately, that won't happen, because there aren't enough coal mines available for all these damn skater punks to be put to work. That's why we need to stay in that desert country place with all the fighting, so we can get them killed off, except this time they die killing lunatics and Arabs instead of other communists, but that's close enough so it doesn't really matter.

Agreed with Azuh, all though at first it can look like much rambling, its actually got much good advice.

 

As for this thread: I will give a +1 Rep, L.S. for this very random but I suppose helpful (all though chaotic thread) :)
