Basically, that track always has a habit of playing when I find some amazing map generation. One time, it played right when I made it to the top of a tall mountain and was looking over the world. The vast sea behind me, a huge forest in front, and more mountains in the distance. It made me want to make the most of the world and not lose everything there. Another time, I had been in a cave that I hadn't labeled so I could find my way out. I was lost in the cave and was running out of supplies in general. Using my last stone and iron pick, both of which were already damaged, I managed to dig my way out. Then I was lost. I wasn't sure where my home was, I had no compass, so I ended up just building a tower to help locate my home. Well, when I did make it home, it was a huge relief. It produces a grimey metal sound particularly evident in games like Thunder Force IV. This track is incredible. To think that it comes from a 1992 game is mind blowing. Your spaceship starts off cruising through ruined electronic wasteland, hence the sinister sounding melody and despairing beat. Then, around the 0:52 mark, a sub boss battle occurs and the music suddenly speeds up with an absolutely ROCKING segment! Also, I noticed that Track 2 in the NSGP is gone, Dejected Groose, I believe? One thing I immediately noticed was there was a bit of a remix of the Wing Cap theme in there, which was nice. However, my favorite part of the song is the section that plays right after that, all the way through until it loops back to the Wing Cap remix. It really got to me at the time, and listening to it now it still does. It's a great battle song for the situation, and really, the in-game description of the power gives a good idea of the feeling the song gives me: [i]"Sacrifices herself to give Mario all her power, leaving everything to him." [/i]I had never wanted to defeat Bowser more (even though in this case it wasn't even wholly him), and the music was great for when you had to give it your all. Overall, an emotional piece to me.
