Merci
This is just a question I've been wondering. You know, it's one of those hypothetical battles. In this case, it's the Deva Path of Pain versus Anakin Skywalker, in his prime during the Revenge of the Sith. The Deva Path is normally depicted as the leader of the Akatsuki, and most prominent of the Six Paths of Pain. Among its abilities are the power of manipulating gravity (Shinra Tensei) and forming a huge makeshift terrestrial body to either be dropped to crush anything underneath or trap anyone caught within (Chibaku Tensei). Not only that, but it also can also manipulate rain somehow and knows other ninjutsu (usually Water-Style) and cannot feel pain due to just being a dead body manipulated by a faraway Nagato. It was so powerful that it beat the famed Hanzo effortlessly, and Sage Mode Naruto would've died had he not released the Kyuubi's power. On the other hand, there's Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one, born of the will of the Force. He has a ridiculously high amount of midi-chlorians, and thus he can easily manipulate the Force to his will. Unlike Pain, who needs time for hand seals to perform its jutsus, Anakin can use his powers directly. Although he hasn't become Darth Vader yet, he's already well into the dark side and draws his power from rage, which had grown to such an extent that he beat an experienced Count Dooku, and easily hacked away at master Jedi during the massacre. The only reason he had lost to Obi-Wan Kenobi was half because of the lava environment and half because Obi-Wan had been his teacher and knew all this tricks. Who knows how much more powerful he would've become had he not been stopped? Wonder who wins? Discuss.
Stan Alda
My money's on Anakin, mostly because he's faster and more aggressive. Pain has more sheer "firepower", but Anakin could cut off a limb or two before Pain used his (it's?) jutsus. Remember the bit from the first Indiana Jones movie where Indy and an Egyptian swordsman are about to duel in an alley? The swordsman starts waving his sword around--and Indy just shoots him. I see it like that.
Dr. Cakey
Oh, it's just Pain's Deva Path? I thought you meant the [s]Six[/s] [s]Seven[/s] [s]Eight[/s] Six Paths of Pain. If it's just the one, I'll hand it to Anakin.
Strider Tigerwolf
If it's just the "Diva" Path (seewutIdidder?), Anakin would probably have a decently hard time, mainly because BOTH have incredibly similar abilities at their core and disposal. So lets do...an analysis. Anakin: Force Abilities Lightsaber + Jedi Training Other Factors: "The Chosen One", his power is exceptionally more potent that nearly if not all Jedi (debatable against Yoda). Deva Path - Pain: MAINLY Water-Style Ninjutsu "Mock" Force Abilities Rinnengan Other Factors: "Proclaimed Destined Child 1 - Jiraija", incredibly powerful and through the wielding of the rinnengan is also able to use any type of jutsu (should he have learned any), but as the Deva Path only, it's mainly just Gravity/Water Based Ninjutsu. My money goes to...*drumroll* Anakin Skywalker. Being more flexible and more direct as well as versatile with his Force Abilities, he can match up and potently counter Deva Pain's techniques, and perhaps even shield himself against Deva Path's most powerful techniques such as the "Mass"/"Grandscale" Shira Tensei that destroyed Konoha. Not only that, but Anakin's Lightsaber...well...yeah. It's a lightsaber. Shuriken, and other projectiles will just be burned or deflected.
Gojira/Godzilla
I think that Skywalker would win, Just because he's Anakin Skywalker.
Thar
This just ain't fair. People put a Naruto character against a totally irrelevant opponent and, while being WAY behind on the anime, I can't compare the two even with the Wiki handy. Voting for Anakin, because he thwarted the Emperor single-handedly after years of being the main antagonist in the original trilogy.
Merci
I thought the Deva Path would win. I mean, one of the things he can do is flight. He can fly. And, shouldn't that make a difference? I'm not really sure if there's a limit to the power of the Force...well, there probably isn't and Anakin can just drag him down with the Force...but still, the fact remains. It might be enough time for him to do a large-scale Shinra Tensei. I'm not sure anymore. I mean, lightsabers can cut through Chibaku Tensei... Meh, I myself will vote for the Deva Path anyway. He has the Rinnegan, after all.

Dark Wolf Greigar
Deva Path unquestionably. The argument that Anakin is faster or more flexible is rendered obsolete when you think for a moment just how fast the Deva Path (Or any high-level Ninja for that matter) really is. Judging by how quickly Anakin moved in his fight with Obi-Wan in Revenge of the Sith, he doesn't seem to be any faster than Sasuke before Shippuden, and there are plenty on Ninja I can list off the top of my head who are far faster. An argument of having an insane amount of force potential is also invalid. That's exactly it, potential, which was all wasted as Anakin did very little actual training in force ability (As shown with his lightsaber focus) and would not be able to do anything much more refined than a Force Choke. Unlike Sideous, I don't think he has ever pulled out a hyperspace storm. As for the advantage of a lightsaber, Bansho Ten'in and crushing the thing renders that useless.
