Other than 1 Creature Swap and 1 Treacherous Trap Hole, not all that surprising of a deck.
Creature Swap and Mind Control are always live in Agents. Steal their boss monster and give them a Shine Ball in return, then completely obliterate your opponent's field.

And really, you only need 2 Venus, 1 for the Gachi play, and another just in case your first one gets Solemn'd/negated/whatever. There is absolutely no reason to be running 3 unless Chaos Agents.

I'm ok with the results.

Did Birdman stop being cool in Agents?
Birdman was never cool in Agents. And it never will be.

Why would you want to waste an extra 500 getting that Ball out again? It's just not that great of a card. /spoiledbecauseofT.G.Agents.

^ I watched it live. Well, sort of. Went to get food at one point.

Anyway, got my report here, at least from the Main Event:

Round 1 vs. Agents

At least I think it was Agents. Kid had to be maybe 15, 16, and was without a doubt the most frustrating person I've ever played. I'm not one of those people who takes the game too seriously and I enjoy joking around with my opponent as much as the next guy, but he was like a squirrel on crack. He like talked so much about the anime duels and took two minutes to shuffle my Deck each time. Playing Gadgets, his constant shuffling got frustrating fast. He like yelled out his moves and whatnot and it was extremely annoying. I took Game 1 easily thanks to Solemn Warnings and Machina Fortress. Not much to it.

Game 2, he ended up dropping Hyperion and BLS and I couldn't get over it - my hand was awful.

Game 3, I pretty much played control, he sat on a Gachi, but Compulsory Evacuation Device took care of that and I just worked my way to victory from there, flipping Ultimate Offering and going into like 4 different Xyz thanks to Pot of Avarice.

1-0

Round 2 vs. HERO (Feature)

You guys read the article, I'm not going to cover this one in detail. Beat him before he had the chance to play a HERO at all.

2-0

Round 3 vs. Agents

This is where I started to go downhill. I don't enjoy playing against Agents at all. I can be a very good player when I'm focused but if I get frustrated I end up misplaying so bad, and Agents is one of those Decks that just has you on edge and frustrates easily. Game 1, he goes Hyperion, BLS, Gorz; there was just no way to get over any of it.

I want to say I won Game 2 thanks to Gear Gigant, but I can't remember many of the details.

Again like, he ended up just beating me down wth Hyperion, BLS, too many things I couldn't get over. I was extremely frustrated at this point, so I walked around for a few minutes to cool down, hoping not to face that bs stuff again.

2-1

Round 4 vs. Wind-Ups

Dude's apparently a well-known player, and I want to say he's on the ARG team based on his gear and whatnot, so yeah. Anyway, he opens Rat, Shark, Magician, I didn't draw a single Veiler. He sets a bunch of backrow, I Heavy Storm into Starlight Road, which I didn't even realize Wind-Ups played. He takes the game next turn.

Game 2, I opened awful, Machina Fortress and a bunch of Spells and Traps. Couldn't do anything against the "loop". I scooped turn 3.

2-2

At this point, they had the Yusei/Akiza duel, so there was like a 30 minute break between rounds. I traded a bit, played the Duel Terminal and got some Constellar stuff, and a Lavalval Chain which I sold for $25 to a friend, so that was cool. Sold a bunch of stuff to the vendors and got a few things I needed, as well.

Round 5 vs. Chaos Dragons

Game 1, I thought he was playing Lightsworns because I had heard a lot of people were playing it and I didn't think Chaos Dragons were still all that relevant. I stopped a Darkflare Dragon play and he dropped Lightpulsar Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon, and pretty much beat me down.

Game 2, I sided in Banisher of the Radiance and some stuff and just kinda stopped his plays thanks to that. Once I dropped Fossil Dyna alongside Banisher, it was over.

Game 3 was close, but he dropped a bunch of beatsticks that I just wasn't drawing enough to get over. He told me after the duel that it was like (and I kid you not) "deja vu" and he had seen this was going to happen, which is why he played Darkflare Dragon. Idk. I shook his hand and walked away.

2-3

I dropped at this point.

Didn't do any Side Events Day 1, because I wanted to save my money.

Day 2, I bought a few Atlantean Decks, sold my Gear Gigant X to a vendor for $30, only for the Deck to win which is frustrating because now it's going to see an increase in value. Entered the Realm of the Sea Emperor tournament, made Semi-Finals but lost to a Poseidra play.

Hung around for a while, traded for some stuff, bought a Black Rose Dragon for $10, got a German Genex Ally Birdman and some Genex Undine, too.

Because it was a special event, they were selling autographed mats towards the Dan Green Charity for only $25. So I grabbed this one:

It came with Dan Green and Greg Abbey's signature, but we met Joey and Pegasus and I got them to sign it, too. Not bad for $25 bucks.

I picked up the rest of the Atlantean stuff I needed minus Catastor, which everyone tried to overvalue, and Gungnir, which saw a HUGE price spike this weekend (like $30-45) so I'll wait before I get that one.

Anyway, it was an awesome event and anyone that has the opportunity to go to a YCS, I definitely recommend it. I'm exhausted now but the weekend was really cool and even if you don't win the event, you'll still have a lot of fun with the Side Events and stuff.

I went with $60 and spent about $200 this weekend, if that's any indication of how easy it is to make money at these things. I sold so many cards and stuff and really for my first competitive experience, it was really cool.

Plus I guess I'm the "Dark Bribe guy" around the area. :D

Darren Dunstan only narrated the first round; they had a generic judge do it after that.

But I didn't enter because I was doing the Atlantean Win-A-Mat one.

Aww, that's too bad. He should've stayed the whole way through - what deck ended up winning the 40 turbo packs?

Wait, Zombies topped?
Pretty sweet to see my 2nd favorite deck seeing amazingly again.
Can't wait for the list.
Birdman is incredibly gimmicky at best. It's dead late game since it isn't a stand alone card like most of the other cards in the deck, which is the reason people dont want to run it.
Everyone and their mother knows that Agents require at least 2 Orangie. At least. If he had more Orangie then he probably would have gotten to T4, but that's irrelevant.

I'm sorry, but who are you?

His reasoning behind running only 1 herald is completely justified (there's a video explaining his deck choices). His build lacks any proper outlet with his Heralds, because the chance of having both Herald and any kind of Fairy he wants to discard is slim at best. And lol2Venus. You need to max Venus because you want to open with it as fast as possible to dump thin the Shin Balls from your deck, and the "dead" Venuses can still be used as an extra discard fodder for Orange Herald, make Hyperion more alive and being Level 3 makes good Xyzs. So no, you cannot use the excuse "its only good in 1 deck", because venus is crucial to the Agent decks' stragety; thinning your deck and making stuff alive.
