宇佐見 蓮子@C94
LOLOLOL IM THE BEST AT THIS GAME YOU ALL SUK LOLOLOL HAHAHAHAHA *loud gunshots and crashing sound heard in the background.* Phew, that was close. I almost had my reputation on this site ruined forever. Goddamn impostors... Anyway- Shut up you're supposed to be dead! *stomp* Alright now he's dead, I think. Anyway, I went to Safebooru and got this picture which I think would be great for a card and- GODDAMMIT STAY DEAD, WILL YA? *loud gunshots* Fine, I'll just show you the card.
2 Level 5 LIGHT or EARTH Monsters Once per turn, Banish 1 card from your Deck Face-down. During the 2nd Standby Phase after this effect is activated, add the Banished card to your Hand. Once per turn: You can Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Flip 1 Card on the field (Except this Card) and either player's Graveyard Face-down.
Alright, that's all I have for now, c'ya later!
Love of Ghibli
D.D. Capsule as monster...well its definitely stronger than I thought lol. Anywho that detach effect is beautiful. Seeing as it literally removes a card from the game. Though I'm not sure on how rulings work. Because if she leaves the field and her effect can still fully resolve then I I'm afraid of having a perpetual better gold sarc monster on the field. If that isn't the case and if she leaves the field at any point and the target you had is permanently removed from the game then she's balanced since every time you activate her effect its just a gamble or you trying to keep her on the field. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Well, the rulings for this resolve the same way as D.D Capsule, meaning the banished card will be lost forever if this card is gone. Also, I don't know if you noticed this, but her first effect is MANDATORY. Meaning, you must banish 1 card each turn.
Sora1499
@Toyo Almost? Hahaha, okay, I'm done.
I don't know much about any of the decent decks that employ EARTH or LIGHT monsters, cept that cyber dragon is at 3. So, for the sake of argument, I'll assuming that there is a deck that can get this out without too much inconvenience. Btw, card is broke. Why, Sora? Why is the card broken? It's a +2 every turn if it lives, because you can use its search effect, flip it face-down with its other effect, and repeat. Now, if it lives, you can ignite another combo and control the game from there. Just for a rank 5 Xyz. And I do recognize the argument that if it dies you're basically screwed, but swords of revealing light (which is at 3, btw) begs to differ. Fixes: To balance this card, all you have to do is add in "except itself". That should get the job done, as a +1 per turn is pretty fair for a -1 Xyz.

Darj
Reminds me of an archetype I once started that based on flipping cards in the Graveyard face-down, effectively sealing cards like the Banished Zone was originally intended to do. Konami should implement that mechanic. Anyways, I don't mind the second effect for Graveyard disruption, but the first one is a bit dangerous: Each turn it survives after her Summon is a +1, but if destroyed immediately you just milled a card (altough nowadays that wouldn't be much of a cost). To avoid abuse with the potential +1's, I would change it to an only-once effect, like upon its successful Xyz Summon: When this card is successfully Xyz Summoned: [insert first effect here] At the same time, I would edit the effect so you get to recover the card even if Kaguya is removed from the field. That way, the Summon of Kaguya (a -1) compensates into a +0 even if destroyed (unless she was Solemned). Not too different from Paladius, who also requires 2 LIGHTs for its Xyz Summon. Sora1499
@Frex I personally disagree with your fix to the card. The risk with using Kaguya's effect is that if it dies, you've just lost a valuable card (why would you search it if it wasn't valuable?), and I think that that should stay. Your fix turns this card into a definite +1 one time, whereas the card is a pending +1 per turn. I personally think that the pending effect is a better design, but that's just my 2 cents. Love of Ghibli
Constellars spam rank 5 lights with little effort. Actually anything that can use Ghost ship or Cyber Dragon can probably drop this thing. I have no idea where the Earth users are going to make it but its fine for the light users in all of us. The fact that it didn't go off after the second stand-by phase completely eluded me but now that is fixed I once again I have no problem with it. I mean since she auto loses to anything like compuls makes me okay with her.
Darj
Oh, I read it as banishing the top card of the Deck. If Kaguya allows you to search a card then she is way better than I thought. But still, +1 yourself with a card you need every turn seems broken. Safe Zone her or provide her other kinds of protection and you might as well win in 2-3 turns. She can even search her own protection cards! Searching only 1 valuable card seems more fair to me.
Sora1499
@Frex Destroy the safe zone brah. Any decent deck should be able to whip out a spell/trap destroyer in 3 turns or so if the need is dire. And you don't get the protection for another turn, so that's ample time for your opponent to mow it down. The card is potent, but not really broken. Darj
Yes, but until you get that S/T destroyer the opponent already searched for Dark Hole, Heavy and other powerful cards, and it will be difficult for you to recover. Also Kaguya can be protected with Counter Traps, Lance, Cloth and even Spellbook of Wisdom, which are more difficult to counter. With enough dedication she can become an actual threat. Forbidden Kaguya Deck anyone?

Forbidden Kaguya Deck anyone?
Can you name the two Lights and/or Earths you would use in said deck? Really it doesn't work. Her requirements are the real balancing factor here as you can't drop her easily and any deck that could do so (light based anyway) doesn't have the space to also protect her. Darj
Well, I was thinking in an Spellbook Deck with Oracle of the Sun and Cyber Dragons. If that Deck is able to keep a High Priestess alive, then it can very well keep Kaguya alive as well. And if you Summon a Priestess alongside her, you will pretty much control the whole duel. Then, shall you lose Kaguya, you can bring her back with Spellbook of Life or even Call of the Haunteds and continue with her effect, as her first effect doesn't need materials. ... Now that I think about it, I must admit you are right: Kaguya is not as broken as I thought. She is not that different from the Priestess herself: While the Priestess destroys a card per turn, Kaguya gets you a card per turn. At best she would be the Boss of her own Deck, but probably she will be often used as an Extra Boss who will show up after the opponent has depleted his/her resources. Synchronized
This is so broken in design it's not even funny. First of all, Constellars bring this out with ease. I know someone mentioned that in the thread but I'm re-mentioning it as a talking point for my argument. Second of all, you've created a giant beatstick that literally searches your Deck for ANY CARD once per turn. That's so, so crazy. Like, it's not even YOUR next Standby Phase, it's just the next Standby Phase. It's way too good. This is roughly what I might suggest, with your own twists, I'm sure:
2 Level 5 LIGHT or EARTH monsters When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card and banish 1 card from your Deck face-down. During your next Standby Phase, add the card banished by this effect to your hand. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card and target 1 face-up card on the field; Set that target.
