Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Not even going to play 1 Trance Archfiend? The side deck looks okay to me, though for more specific counters you may want to go the route of either Cyber Dragon or System Down. While they are not -the- most prevalent deck, Machina variants have been getting tops and a lot of people have been playing them this format. You should also mentally prepare yourself for a lot of rogue decks, though you may find yourself just facing a butt load of Wind-Ups, depending on your luck (Yes, people still play them). Ryko may also not be the wisest choice. If you mill anything but Grapha you will be at least a little sad.
This Account is Unplayable
Trance Archfiend sucks and would be taking up precious space. From what I know about Machinas (So, Geargias) is that they die to Skill Drain and DDV and can't deal with MCED effectively. idk if I'm wrong there or not though. Oh and rogue decks are simple for DWs, I have 3 MSTs, 1 Dust Tornado and Eradicator Epidemic for a reason (not to mention MCED and Rykos)
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Trance is meant to actually break up your otherwise dead hands. Since DW monsters do nothing except when they are discarded (in 90% of the cases), you will be sitting there with lousy beatsticks until you can pull off one of your discards. That's the point of Trance, really. Its banished return effect is good, especially since the main counter for DWs is banishing (and of course your field spell banished), and turning into a beatstick isn't bad either, compared to Raven who ends up just gaining a little bit of ATK and can be used for Synchros if you really wanted to. It's also additional discard fodder for your Gates, so that's not bad. It's really up to you. Maybe running Trance is a bad idea for you, just giving you some reasons. This Account is Unplayable
I run 10 discard outlets in the main deck. I run 3 Upstart Goblins and 3 Reckless Greeds. The rest of the non-DW cards let me stall and get to those cards if I really need to. So yeah... Trance sucks. Not to mention it puts me to 3 dead DDitG monsters. 2 is bad enough, not to mention it makes 3 dead with Drain.
EmpoleMew
Soul Drains in the side and/or Abyss Dweller in the Extra? I don't know how good a matchup DW has with Merlanteans but it may be something to consider.
This Account is Unplayable
Soul Drains destroy the deck itself. ._. Er... idk why I'd use Abyss Dweller... Seems like I play a 1700 to do nothing instead if making a 2700-3000 beater. Not to mention, I almost literally never make a rank 4.
byak
I'd main Eradicator.
This Account is Unplayable
Over Skill Drain, I assume? I assume it's particularly good against most of the meta right now then?
Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
I suppose the only other excuse I can come up with to use Trance is so that you actually have a monster you can summon without bouncing it for Grapha.
This Account is Unplayable
Why would I want a monster I can't bounce for Grapha? ._.
EmpoleMew
Soul Drain was me derping, sorry about that. Eradicator is another good card against Merlanteans, stops them from using Abyss-sphere (assuming they don't have one set already) and effectively shuts Prophecies down completely. Also deals with Wind-Up Factory, Miracle Fusions and Super Polys, Sam stuff, traps in general. Of course I don't know what you're expecting at your regionals so Skill Drain might still be better. ihop
Wind-Ups are the top deck and they have 3-4 monsters on field pretty constantly. Obviously if you feel Skill Drain will do enough of a good job for you then don't side them because you don't play any cards you'd like to set. This Account is Unplayable
Rivalry of Warlords, Skill Drain and DDV f*** with Wind-Ups just as well, and are better against more decks. Seems better to me to keep the side broader than go for silver bullets.
Agro
The meta is basically going to be Wind-Ups; Agents, since 6 got into the top 16 at the last YCS; Geargias, obviously; Atlanteans (Mermails) should show; Prophecies are an expensive, but well liked deck; Chaos Dragons and Dino Rabbit are still around. Mostly expecting Wind-Ups, Geargia, Atlanteans, Prophecies, and Agents to show up and the rest will be like how tier 2 decks showed up the past few formats. May be different depending on the meta where you are. Rogue decks will prolly be Dark Worlds, like you, Zombie Monarchs after a dude top 4'd, Gravekeepers, and ya know, anything that always goes rogue like GBs and LS. This Account is Unplayable
Huh, so EEV and Drain both seem really necessary in the main, so I'll drop a Compulse for EEV. Rogue decks are some of the easiest to pick apart anyway, especially with 4 sided S/T removals, so I shouldn't have to worry about those. Cool, ty for the quick summary, Ev. lce
Did you ever consider that Chronomaly Rank 3 over Brilliant?
This Account is Unplayable
Honestly, both suck in DWs and I probably won't even bother finishing the extra irl to include either. The important extra deck cards are the Cyber Ends, Heliopolis, Leviairs, Leviathan Dragon and Zenmaines.
Miror B
Needs more Gransoil. Is Dust Tornado solely for Macro and SIM? Cuz I feel if you really want the removal than Twister would be a faster replacement for during your turns when you topdeck it.
This Account is Unplayable
I prefer Dust Tornado for heavier backrow/rogue decks. Might take Twister instead. I'll probably just be lazy and decide on the day between the two in all honesty. Both have their merits.
This Account is Unplayable
Kinda bumping Also updated OP with changes I've made after a little testing: -1 Skill Drain (to side) +1 EEV Drain just wasn't putting in the work it did last format. I still love it as a side card since it can be a free win against so many decks though. -2 Soul Taker (from side) +2 BTH Soul Taker was almost win moar in matchups where I already had an advantage. BTH helps the mirror matchup so much. Still undecided on Dust Tornado vs Twister in the side.
