Makes Pluses if you drop it with Mew. I like it. It makes + searches for Ticket and Chateou. 16 attack is nice, and it recycles.

Is the "possess" term new? I havent seen it before.
Yeah it's new. The last batch of madolches were miss printed so the new ones have posses. Also what it means if you don't know, it means that now, if they get destroyed say from your hand and sent to the graveyard. They'll be able to return to the deck.

Or if they're Solemn'd.

And they couldn't say "if this card is destroyed" because?
An "if" effect would make little difference between a "when" effect, simply because it's a mandatory effect.

I think it's too slow to use. It only combos with one piece that makes it extremely situational, but it's effect to nab Chateau is well worth it.
I meant, why even need to state that it's a card you possess? Now if your opponent destroys your own Madolche that the opponent controls, it doesn't return to the Deck.

They say "that you possess" only because of the misunderstanding of when an opponent controls your cards and they destroy it with your or an opponent's effect.

This is how it normally happens, say in the case of Naturia Cherries:

If your opponent controls your "Naturia Cherries" and destroys it with their effect, then the Trigger "Destroyed by your Opponent's Card" is incorrect because at the time it was destroyed, it was destroyed by its controllers card, and therefore the Trigger does not check whether it got into the Graveyard or whose Graveyard it got into.

If your opponent controls your "Naturia Cherries" and you destroy it with your effect, the Trigger "Destroyed by your Opponent's Card" is True, but when it reaches your Graveyard, the Trigger is later invalidated since Naturia Cherries is in your Graveyard and can be considered destroyed by YOUR effect, and not an opponent's.

In any case, Madolche Messengelato follows the same issue. Simply saying "If this card is destroyed by your opponent's card and is sent to the Graveyard" would provide the exact same results as the current Madolche Messengelato text. They simply add "you possess" and "your Graveyard" to clarify these above to facts that it would only work while you have the card when it is destroyed by an opponent's card, much like Naturia Cherries.

Compared to other problem solving card texts that I do have issues with, I think I actually find this one a little more helpful only because I can't see anything that would be contradicting with other cards or contradicting its own effect, like I see in a lot of other "Problem-Solving Card Text" changes.

Because the term control implies that you needed to have the card on your field. Which means that you never controlled a card if it was Warninged because it never oficially hit the field. However, if Madolches leave the field due to Solemn Warning, they still get their effect, even though if they weren't properly in your control first. Therefore they added possess.

EDIT: Ninja'd

I don't know how the other Madolche cards were printed but "control" definitely means "on your field". Again though, all that "you possess" stuff is clarity filler.

I heard somewhere that having a card under your control implies that you had it on your field, and if a card gets Warning'd, it's as though it never existed, therefore you didn't control it. I don't know, however, why Konami didn't make up this new term before, and do the Madolches from REDU need to be errata'd or simply have different effects.

I understand that. All I said is that I haven't seen old translations or other printed version of Madolche cards to know how they were originally written. "Control" implies field presence.

As for my other post, I'm saying that it is not required to say "If this card you possess is destroyed", when "If this card is destroyed" would work just the same in this scenario. Its used to avoid issues where if the opponent has your card when it is destroyed. "You possess" and "Your Graveyard" work together to avoid those issues.

From what I heard those cards have been misprinted. I could be wrong though.

In this case, instead of saying "Card you control", which is incorrect to its rulings, they just would've had to take out "you control". They didn't have to make up a new term and change it to "you possess".

"When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard." is the Problem Solving Card Text version of "When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard."

I wouldn't be surprised if Naturia Cherries and Thor get similar changes.

Yes they did, because if it's on your opponent's side of the field when it's destroyed, the effect doesn't activate. I don't see what's so difficult about this.
