I am just starting to try this card out in my Chaos Dragons(in the side) to combat Mermails. This seems like a good idea, because it stops their discarding effects, which is good because there are few cards that get over it in the main, namely Moulinglacia, Torrential if they play it, Dark Hole, and Diva.

Moulinglacia isnt reliable because its hard to get this in hand w/o any graveyard effects, Dark Hole is a 1 of, but Torrential and Diva are problems.

Another thing to consider is their sided in Soul Takers/Aybss Giaos(I really hate the card). Also, this card can shut off your plays too, but being able to soft lock them with one card is neat. This also makes Call of the Haunted better, as you can chain it to shut off their effects. Kinda like chaining call to Jinzo to stop a trap.

Your thoughts?

If this card was on the field, mermails probably wouldn't make abyssgaios very easily because they usually make it via spamming abysslinde and dragoons, both of which this card negates. By the time you can summon it, mermails already will have secured done advantage with undine, spike, etc. Diva would only be a problem for this card if they summoned heavy infantry and then used infantry's effect to summon marksman, then synch for gungnir, as catastor can't touch Anubis. I once played mermails vs macro. It was awful. I eventually won off of a dragoons marksman combo, but it took forever! I can oh imagine what it would be like with a 2.5k beater breathing down my neck... <shudders>

This also stops your own effects, and from what I remember Chaos Dragons have a number of effects that activate in the graveyard. Trooper, Lightpulsar, and Wyvern.

Play around your own cards, Id rather have this card out against Waters to slow them down while building up a hand to deal with their pushes.
