AGATHODAIMON BANGTAIL COW
Negate a card effect that would destroy a card(s) on the field, and if you do, destroy it.
Because apparently every counter to the Solemn Brigade either sucks, or is Judgement. This is pretty much a Spell Speed 3 one-use Starfag Dragon, nothing else to it. Also, it's a Counter Counter wannabe. It's just so much better saying Counter Counter over and over than Anti-Destruct. Also, Yugico is making me have to save things to Paint and use Tinypic. Goddammit.
newhat
This doesn't stop Solemn on an effect from the hand that Summons, nor on an Inherent Special Summon, because the monster being Summoned is in the hand or in Limbo. It does stop things that would counter Spell or Trap Cards, as well as being a less situational, less rewarding Starlight Road that can protect a Continuous Spell or Trap you want to keep present. I just can't imagine why you wouldn't rather use Bribe, because all I'm sensing is butthurt.
Synchronized
I can provide very solid reasoning as to why you wouldn't want to use Bribe over this: Grapha Hyperion Catastor Dolkka Laggia Marksman Heavy Infantry Black Rose Dragon Scrap Dragon Infernity Doom Dragon Void Ogre Dragon Elemental HERO Absolute Zero Wind-Up Zenmaines Need I go on? It counters most of the things Bribe does plus a whole ton of monsters.
I wasn't exactly happy when I made the card and I don't remember why, but it didn't have anything to do with Solemn. I think it had to do with the Battle Phase not being a useful way of getting rid of monsters. And if Bribe isn't good enough to be meta, then it isn't, well, good enough, and Solemn becomes an unstoppable "God says no" card, which probably isn't very healthy for the game. Sora1499
Dark Bribe is good in some decks that have the space. The reason why it's not run not nearly as much as it used to be in, say, Sabers format, is because we're moving away from a trap-based game towards monster-ccentric builds. Now, the card itself: Review: Actually, this card can't touch solemn brigade because they destroy cards before they touch the field. Mermanteans are going to be tier 0 this format, and this hurts em to a degree, but not much. Agents will be good as well, and this stops Hyperion, but, honestly, I don't think I'd main more than 1 of this. The fact remains that it won't always go off, whereas other traps like solemn and dark bribe will 90% of the time, so those alternatives are probably better for a meta deck. It's not really bad, just not extraordinary.
