First and foremost, it has 3500 ATK. And there is actually no monster with 3500 ATK/DEF. Second of all, I love norse mythology. And thirdly, namesake, sort of. Discuss. Anyway best Aesir Lord because its the easiest to summon, it can negate nasty effects, revive itself, all in all pretty good card, albeit slower nowadays but still good. Seriously, Svartalf + That other one that allows you to normal summon twice in a turn = a two turn Loki Valkyrie + 2 random Nordics = Instant Odin. [/quote] I think by "easiest", he meant something like: Thor's Nordic set is consistent, and heavily supported. Loki's Nordic set is basically Salvage Warrior + Level Eater. evilfusion Posted December 18, 2012 Report Share Posted December 18, 2012 Thor is the most consistent God because Nordic Beasts actually have synergy and support. -Tanngrisnir Summons 2 Level 3 Tokens when it dies. The only Nordic Beast Tuner is Level 4, making them perfect level materials. -Tanngnjostr SSes itself from hand when something dies, and when switched to ATK, can SS any Nordic Beast, including Guldfaxe for Synchs. -Due to Tanngnjostr coming from hand, Gleipnir is an awesomely chainable search Trap that can grab it when a monster attacks your monster, bringing it out as an utter shock, and likely getting that Synchro brought out. Thor's 3500 ATK and one-sided Skill Drain (sadly, an Ignition Effect) is just epic. And the revival effect is nice, but 800 damage is only so good compared to Loki and Odin's "when revived" effects. Loki...ugh. Its Tuner is Level 5 with an okay effect, but it makes level synergy really difficult without Level Eater. The other Nordic Alfar cards have no real synergy with themselves, but other Nordics in general. But the Nordic Beasts have their little engine to use, and the Alfar require more luck to combo. Its second Tuner, Mara, is awful because it requires you to Synch with exactly 2 Nordics from hand, while being Level 2. To bring out Loki, you need Garm and the Level 4 Alfar (or combinations of the two). Loki may only have 3300, but it's a Shi En during the Battle Phase, and recovers Traps when revived. Odin is epic, but has almost no support. Valkyrie is its "instant Summon", but requires you to banish Nordics from the hand with a ridiculously specific timing to use its effect (only when NSed when opponent has monster and you have no Field). Vanadis is much better, since it works with the Nordic Beast engine and Tanngrisnir's tokens, and can then bring out Odin, Loki, or Thor. Odin being the best choice because Vanadis is fodder for Odin's revival. The other Nordic Ascendants have no synergy whatsoever with any of the Nordics. Odin's awesome with 4000 ATK and immunity to all S/Ts, and it draws 1 when revived. A very deadly card if supported carefully. So yeah, Thor works best because the Nordic Beasts are actually decent.
