Akira
Do you go shopping already knowing what you're going to buy for people? Do you impulse buy? Are you a calm shopper or an aggressive one? Share your experiences. I tend to think a little about the presents I get for those closer to me. For everyone else I just browse the shops in town and think "that'll do, that'll do, that'll do..." I try and get someone to shop with me as I'm pretty impatient. Being stuck behind 2 middle aged ladies who take forever with their purchase because they don't know how to shut up and then fail at entering their pin TWICE really isn't my idea of fun. Northern Sage
I ask, but you don't always get a straight answer, so it depends.
.Rai
I panic, think of a gift, then buy it somewhere. If I don't panic, I'll never get around to thinking of a gift. Usually, it's a different variety of tea for people. I'm pretty obsessed with tea.

[/quote] And it apparently throws you on random tangents. Or wait, I misread that because it was worded so weirdly. THAT SENTENCE CONFUSES ME PROFOUNDLY. Also, if memory serves correctly, this was the first time I bought presents for my entire family. Easy to run out of ideas.

Saves you too much effort, yet kinda gives you some personalisation space.
~British Soul~
When I christmas shop, I know what I buy people, although sometimes I impulse buy stuff for myself. I always tend to get my christmas shopping done around the end of November/start of December. I rarely leave shopping to the last minute, and even then I do it the week/weekend before christmas. Raine
I went to the same store 4 different times over a week before I found something I wanted to get my Father. I'm calm... I'm just also clueless...
Fusion X. Denver
This Friday will be my first time Christmas shopping by myself and I have no idea what to get for my family >>
bury the year
I only have to get a few presents each year, because my immediate family is only my parents and dog and my relatives aren't too big into gift-giving. Anyways, I usually just buy books or something practical. (Like cookware. :'D)
Makο
Gift Cards. Gift Cards everywhere. Actual things are objects not worth risking to buy, since I have no idea what anyone wants.
Cin
Go the easy method and ask close family what they want. Don't tend to buy for anyone else as my best friend doesn't celebrate christmas.
