Dwarven King
Now, this is in NO way directed towards anyone. But after stumbling upon an article, I felt I had to see what everyone else thought. I don't know about most of you, but where I'm at, a lot of girl's complain because they are treated differently for being a girl. They complain because they are expected to do their job at work, make their own choices, and overall at least attempt to be independent. Something women years ago fought for. Now it's like women these days just don't care. Well, for those of you who don't care about having equal rights, let me show you an article about India. A place where women are FAR from having equal rights. http://www.huffingto...kusaolp00000009 Le discuss this. ListenToLife
It's a horrible thing, the attitudes in most countries. Over here where I live, there's a lot of people going around saying 'Women deserve equal rights', but it seems they only want the benifits of it, not the drawbacks. I.e, they think that they can insult someone and not be insulted back, that they deserve better pay than men, for working less. Everything is apparently sexist. Meanwhile, in other countries, women are in a seriously negative position. Like you've pointed out.
DARKPLANT RISING
Most people in the world are either: -Men who believe they deserve more rights than women -Women who believe they deserve more rights than men So honestly, yeah, it's a tough problem. They are all for equal rights...until the get the negative part. Then they deserve "special treatment" because they are girls. You don't know how many girls at my job are "to weak" to lift anything, such as a bucket of tea. So they make me do it even though I've seen them lift that crap before. .-. ListenToLife
I'm full on Egalitarian. Same rights for all. There is the problem of nature stopping that. Certain designs by nature that prevent total equality and fairness. E.g, sports will generally be dominated by men, due to men being naturally more athletically built. World Records in running & throwing and stuff will almost always be dominated by men. Women get a similar thing. The worlds oldest person will generally be a women, for they naturally live longer. LeguBrit
Women should have as many rights as men. It's a no-brainer, both sexes are of the Human Race (Don't anyone twist that). And even though some women do understand that goes for consequences and sharing the load as well, some think that they are better than everyone else. But it's men that have been withholding the rights of women for thousands of years for no credible reason, and as DaWeirdGuy said it still happens in some countries. There shouldn't be an argument but there is and it is sickening.

Lunar Origins
Equal rights for women? How about equal rights for women who were born men?! WE DESERVE TO BE TREATED LIKE ROYALTY, DAMNIT. *Ahem.* I'm quite alright with everyone's position, these days. Overall, things aren't so bad in the United States for both sexes. There are always people who think they're better than everyone else (i.e. me). That doesn't apply to just women- men, too. It's sexist in of itself to just say that about one. Cin
Saddly the other woman mentioned in your link has since died of mulitple organ failure. My response is castrate the men who did it they don't deserve to breed. At my work we all pitch in to lift the stock upstairs during a delivery, however the boys will take up most of it because they are physically more capable of carrying the heavier loads and they offer although the women (who outnumber them greatly) are willing to take them up (although the person who fills the chiller will have to bring them down anyway and 20+ cans of drink is not light.) Equal rites for all really, I never understood why women were seen as the inferior gender and how hard is it to pay men and women the same? Men are payed more because most employers think they have families to support with one source of income because women have been housewives for so long, which means an increase in their paycheck so they can support their families. Yu-gi-oh Dude
When I was on the bus once, a pregnant woman got on, so I got out of my seat and she slapped me square in the face calling me a sexist pig. There was nothing sexist about that. I was merely being courteous. Jeez, and some women say chivalry's dead like it's our fault.
Cin
Ouch. I only tend to give my chair to the elderly and someone who needs it more. (If my feet aren't throbbing from work) or I just stand up if I can't find one of my prefered seats near the front and near a stop button. Rin whilst that was the case in the past I'd say it isn't now. In my house hold because of Hotpoint moving abroad my Dad went from the main earner in the house to the 2nd earner behind my Mum who doesn't earn all that much to begin with (Around £12,000). My mum literally started working again when me and my sister were old enough for preschool because of child care costs (Grandparents were at the other end of town) so when she was 4 and I was 7, but that was pretty much around school hours. Great Unclean One: VK
Though I all for equal rights for BOTH genders, I sadly live near femnazis, not feminists. Then again, the problem is with both genders. Some men want to treat women like how they were treated back then since they were raised that way, some men treat women as equals (Which I learned the hard way to not to do for some women) since they agree they should be treated as equals, and some flagging themselves because they're guys and pretend to be gay while hating on other guys. Some women want to be treated like ladies including the perks and drawbacks (I tip my hat to you for recognizing a packaged deals, those women to realize this), some want to be treated like equals with both drawbacks and perks (Once again, I salute you those who do this), and some want only the perks of both while hating on males. The last one is the kind that forever stained my views on feminism due to the prominence of it. I personally say let women do the same stuff as men, WITHOUT ANY PERKS OF THE OLD CUSTOMS. Which means, I won't go easy on you on the rare days I'm forced to play American football, which will most likely end up with me slamming some poor guy or chick into the ground hard with all 220 pounds of fat and fury. Which means I will not give up my seat, open the door, pull up a chair, or any chivalry related deed. Allow women to go into combat then, allow women to get drafted, allow women to also have the same set of rules when it comes to dating, sex, etc, but I'm not done there. I'm here for both genders. Why not judge mothers as equally as fathers? In the U.K. and the United States, mothers tend to win cases hands down while fathers will be lucky to have their kids. Why should men lose everything in court? Is it because they're the earner? I thought we would have abolished such concepts? Why does the father have little to no right to not want anything to do with having a kid while the mother has all the power? Now, I know my views are very, very, very, very, very radical from what the next few posters are gonna say about this post, calling me a female hating, try hard troll, well for those who do, continue, after all it's your right. Shradow
I just think all people should have equal rights, whether they're male, female, gay, African American, etc. Discrimination of any sort is usually bad. And concerning one of the issues, how you shouldn't hit women, "Equal rights, equal fights."

It's pretty much what I believe, and it's basically being fair to all. As for the violence thing; I'm pretty pacifist myself. Fighting anyone is generally out of my comfort zone. Though I am more prone to playfully hitting my male friends than my female; though realistically, that basically means I'm more prone to punching a guy who weighs about twice as much as me, who can lift twice his own weight, because I know it wont hurt him vs not hitting my female friends because I have many of them, and a lot of them are quite small. To me, at anyrate. But equality is equality; as Shradow said 'Equal rights, equal fights'. Though not that much; as I said, nature disagrees.
or how about you just play nice and dont hit anyone? that seems much simpler and less creepy than going "well equal rights means i can hit women!!!! dont tell me no!!!!!!!" like a lot of the focus ive seen, both in this thread and elsewhere, is to make women do all the same stuff as men, both good and bad. but why should anyone have to do those bad things, men or women? like the selective service/draft. so many men argue that women should be forced to sign up too, instead of thinking for even a moment that maybe the draft is outdated and harmful and that it should go. (also saying only men need to sign up isnt true because im a woman but since i was born a man i had to sign up). instead of playing a tit for tat thing where you compile a big ol list of what one gender has and the other doesnt etc, just treat every single person like a human being. ListenToLife
By 'Bad', we mean stuff like the same amount of work, not expecting people to do stuff for them, etc. For example, where my dad works, there's a person who does a similar job to him, but gets paid more for it, because she threatened to complain about sexism. She should get paid equal amount for equal work.
