Rank 3s don't really have much muscle outside of leviair, zenmaines, leviathan, acid golem, and temtempo (the last 2 of which are extremely situational anyways), so I've decided to change that by giving us a card that stops many herpderp OTKs in their tracks whilst managing to be a very useful and versatile card in general. Comment, review, rate, hate, whatever. Enjoy!

I don't think this card's design is a really good idea. Do you remember when people complained about TGU became a 2500 beater and an Effect Veiler? This sort of follows suit.

The first problem is how damn easy it is to make in the first place. Tour Guide makes it, any deck that plays level 3s can make it. It would immediately become an overused staple on release.

One important factor is how it promotes unfair turn 1 plays just as much as it attempts to counter unfair turn 2 plays. If Player A can make this turn 1 (and it's really easy to make if you draw Tour Guide), that prevents Player B access to an effect once per turn for the next two turns, unless they have a counter to it.

Another big problem I see for this card is Wind-Ups. Not only could they drop Shock Master + a bunch of stuff turn 1, but now they could drop this and Shock Master turn 1, locking the other player from spells and one monster effect.

The attribute and stats don't really justify it either. Dark is perhaps the most supported attribute in the game, and until now there wasn't a good go to Tour Guide Xyz that's dark. Now you have an Xyz that does a bunch of stuff at the cost of your normal summon that also fuels chaos monsters. Small note, but making this turn 1 also gets your grave completely set up for Dark Armed when your opponent gets rid of it. 2100 ATK is also a lot for a Rank 3 with such a powerful effect. Zenmaity and Leviair have low stats for a reason.

I don't think there's really a way to fix it without nerfing it entirely. A pseudo Dolkka that can come from Tour Guide or any two level threes just isn't a good idea. If it had weaker stats it would probably be better, but then it just leads back to the whole turn 1 point. Think of it like Oppression, it can stop your opponent from going balls out, but when used when you yourself are going balls out, it's very devastating and unfair.

I agree with all points that above person made. However, I can see a possible solution to this problem. Reduce the stats to... perhaps 1800 to 2000, then, but make the effect mandatory once per turn so your opponent can drop a dummy to absorb the effect. Also make it so that the part about not being used as Material only for the turn the card was Summoned. This way, it's like a lockdown but its possible to get over it. So... summing up my points, make its effect: “Once per turn, when your opponent Summons a monster: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; that monster’s effects are negated and it cannot leave the field this turn.”

I was worried that this card was pushing it. I'll make it detach 2 mats so its only a 1-time use, like rai-oh, and lower the ATK to 2k. However, I will not change the attribute: it's DAD's fault for being broken, not Aternia's fault for being DARK.

Why is that fix really necessary when you're probably going to run over the monster next turn anyways? However, I will consider making the effect mandatory.

i love the way the card is now, too bad i didnt get to see the original draft.

and you know, ive seen a lot of people express themselves about other peoples card ideas as too broken or too overpowered, to this i say: Wind-Up Zenmaines is THE most broken card in the game. at least he is to me, and yet he made it to the official card game and everybody loves him.I mean the guy is so broken i met a guy inDueling network that actually got scared when he saw me overlay 2 level 3's because he thought it was zenmaines.

to me your card is great as it is now, and was probably better with more power. I would definetly use it :D

oh yeah, the fact that its a number makes me love it even more
