The Statmen Archetype is composed of all Machine-Type LIGHT monsters. Their effects focus around getting destroyed by battle and Special Summoning another Statmen. Each Statmen focuses on a different aspect of the game. The original three Statmen, Striker, Blocker, and Speedster, are Attack, Defense, and Speed. These three are the base of the archetype, their effects allowing other Statmen to be Special Summoned. The rest of the Statmen monsters gain effects when Special Summoned by a Statmen monster.

EN001Statmen-Striker.png

Any Battle Damage this card inflicts to your opponent is halved. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Statmen" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Statmen-Striker."

 

EN002Statmen-Blocker.png

Once per turn, if this card would be destroy it is not. Your opponent cannot select other "Statmen" monsters as attack targets. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Statmen" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Statmen-Blocker."

If your opponent controls at least 1 more card than you, this card can attack your opponent directly. This card cannot be targeted by a Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Statmen" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Statmen-Speedster."

If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Statmen" monster, except this card: You can destroy 1 Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls; Place this card in the Spell and Trap Card Zone the destroyed card was in. Cards cannot be activated in response to this effect. If this card is destroyed while in a Spell and Trap Card Zone; Special Summon it to your side of the field.

If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Statmen" monster; Destroy all other face-up monsters. Then, take damage equal to their combined Levels x200. You can Tribute this face-up card; Destroy 2 cards on the field.

 

EN006Statmen-Thrasher.png

If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Statmen" monster: Destroy 1 monster; Increase this card' sATK equal to the destroyed monster's Leve. x200. If this card destroys an opponent's face-up Defense Position monster by battle; Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Statmen" monster from your Graveyard.

If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Statmen" monster; Banish 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard. If this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard; Target 1 card in your opponent's Banished Pile; Banish all cards with the same name from your opponent's Graveyard, Deck, hand, and side of the field.

Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Cannot be Special Summoned. You can place this card in your Field Spell Card Zone as a face-up Field Spell Card. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Machine-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Statmen" monster from your hand or Deck.

When a face-up monster would be destroyed by a card effect: You can Tribute it; Destroy 1 face-up card your opponent controls. The Tributed monster is counted as being destroyed by battle.

Each time a LIGHT Machine-Type monster is destroyed as a result of battle; Place 1 "Stat Counter" on this card(max.3). You can send this card to the Graveyard; Draw 1 card for each "Stat Counter" on it.

 

EN014StatCannon.png

Tribute 1 "Statmen" monster you control. Select and activate 1 of the following effects:

-Inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the ATK or DEF of the Tributed monster, whichever is higher.

-Destroy 1 face-up monster with ATK less than the ATK or DEF, whichever is higher, of the Tributed monster.

During each of your End Phase, if you do not control a face-up "Statmen" monster; Destroy thisc ard. Each time a LIGHT Machine-Type monster is Special Summoned; Inflict 800 damage to your opponent.

Target 1 Level 4 "Statmen" monster you control: Halve the Targeted monster's ATK and DEF; Special Summon 1 "Statmen" monster with the same name from your Deck. The Special Summoned monster's ATK and DEF are halved.

3 Level 4 "Statmen" monsters

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material Monster from this card; Target 1 face-up "Statmen" monster you control. The Targeted monster cannot be destroyed by a card your opponent controls this turn. Cards cannot be activated in response to this effect. Destroy the monster during the End Phase. Monsters destroyed by this card's effect are treated as being destroyed as a result of battle. If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard; Special Summon up to 2 Level 4 "Statmen" monsters from your Graveyard that were not used to Xyz Summon this card.

Thrasher and Bombarder are overpowered. Expecially when you can just Set one of the under level 4's and bring them out. Whats fair about destroying 2 cards by setting and waiting until your next turn with bombarder? It needs to be tweaked, because there is literally no point in running anything but these 4.

 

Striker

Blocker

Bombarder (The real problem. Level 5, super easy to get out, can CoTH it to pop 2 cards for the price of 1... so many OP plays with him. Just needs to be reworked totally)

Thrasher

 

That's all you need and this is crazy broken, destroying opponents cards instantly and bringing out high-attack beatsticks.

 

Also, Machine Dupe + Blocker = Another Hopperlock, except this time you can do it faster.

 

5/10, the Deck had a good concept, but you overlooked cards and how they function with eachother. In this case, they would function to be quite broken, even if only using 4 cards of the set.

Thanks. Will work on them later. I was afraid Bombarder would prove overpowered. Thrasher does need to be reworked. Thank you for the feedback.



Can you link me to the art? It's some of the best I've ever seen and I'd love to make an archetype out of it. Even has S/T art... You said it was HP Doom but I couldn't find it.
