darkwolf777 Posted February 10, 2013 Report Share Posted February 10, 2013 That's because Pacman is named the way he is because of the onomatopoeia of its mouth opening and closing: "pakupaku", making him "Pakuman". English doesn't use the same onomatopoeia and he's just named "Pacman" and it loses that original meaning. This is named for more or less the same reason most likely.
