Because it's now banned on Chance Format [Atlantean Dragoons]

It wouldn't be damn-near as broken if Mermails weren't a thing.

The fact that it offsets costs is just horrid design.

It wouldn't be damn near broken if there were not such things as good sea serpents.

If that weren't the case, this would be perfect design. Not a terrible decision in the slightest.

And there's also no sarcasm in my voice, absolutely none in the slightest.

Hey there tiger, calm yaself.   I didn't say it wasn't broken, I said it wouldn't be nearly as broken.

Sure, it's bad design, but the fact is without Mermails there would be no consistent way to trigger the damn thing, making it all but useless.

The point is that it's broken by the mere existence of good sea serpent monsters.

It didn't have to be Mermails, it could be a series of rather balanced Sea Serpent cards.

All it needs is a WATER monster whose effect will send it to the Graveyard.

Blaming Mermails for a broken card's existence is silly.

@Mido - I believe that was a joke.

@claire - Diva is Tourguide for Sea Serpents, AND a Tuner with no downside except not having a target in the Deck....it's bad.

It's not really a tour guide. Only goes into rank 2s and lv 5s typically, and its main 2 targets are horrid card design, so, yeah.

Even though comparing it to TGU is probably a stretch due to how stupidly TGU interacts with itself, this card still has the same major design flaw: it's a normal summon -> ED monster, and level 5 synchros have some damn good targets under their belt.  Anyways, I don't really have a big problem with Diva, but I could see it going to 2 at some point.

OT:  It would be *less* busted if it said when it was sent from the hand to the graveyard and if it searched level 4 and lower sea serpents, but it would still be pretty questionable.

Well, Mono-Mermail rarely send it from anywhere else but the hand so that's not really necessary but obviously a level 4 or lower cap would make it a little less stupid as you can't open this + Teus and grab Megalo and make Gaios turn 1 as long as you have 1 more WATER.
