L0SS
2 Sea-Serpent Type monsters. Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending the above cards from either side of the field to the Graveyard. (You do not use "Polymerization".) When this card is destroyed, you can banish 1 Sea-Serpent Type monster in your Graveyard to Special Summon this card. [hr] Mermail/Atlantean builds were irritating me today. What with their frantic summoning and tailored Trap support. So, I decided to create a card that can be used both with and against them. In essence, it's a Chimeratech Fortress Dragon for Sea-Serpent monsters. Tell me what you think of this design, and if it does it's job of cutting those pesky Mermails down to size. Zazubat
Yeah, 2800 for any WATER monster? Are you nuts? Not destroy per turn? The last effect is useless, just use 3 if you need to, not worth banishing anything for. It's badly designed, if you actually had some fusion materials it would be okay I guess. The picture is extreamly cool though, where did you find that?

After I'd redesigned it, I'd completely forgotten how high the attack was. It should be about 2000. As for materials, I don't know. Not really sure what materials should be used. You're right about the last effect, I might just make it 2 water monsters, and no more. Edits ahoy!
Zazubat
Better now, 2K is alright for that, but it can SS itself again at least 2 times (unless something happens to the monsters used). I would suggest adding "by battle and/or card effects" that way your opponent has a chance to get rid of it in other ways. I suggest battle as it's has lowish ATK so that way you will be able to SS, but also isn't as powerful as by card effects would be.

Sleepy
It's funny because Deep Sea Diva can Summon this on her own and Creature Swap means it's a bad day to be your opponent. It also comboes nicely with Scrap Dragon/ Torrential Tribute/ Dark Hole. I think it still needs toning down. It IS more generic and easy to bring out than Chimeratech Fortress Dragon. This card means that just running WATER makes you auto-lose.

I think it's fine as it is currently, or at least I can't find any way to make it more balanced than what I already have suggested, so unless you know a way, Plainview is going to have to make the decision himself. I don't mean WATER decks using it. I mean their opponent's using it. If you have a WATER deck, chances are, you'll be unable to comfortably end your turn with 2 or more WATER monsters in play, because your opponent can just merge them from their side, plus whatever OTKing combo they might be about to do. It's punishing the deck for being WATER, in a more severe way than Fortress does, because you don't even need to draw anything for it.

It wasn't my intention to punish WATER decks on the whole, just Mermail decks. I don't really have a work around for that though. Could it's materials be Sea-Serpent instead? Sleepy
I suppose that will do. There might be problems with that road in the longrun, but it'll take years for that so, it's not too relevant. Sooo taking into account just the current pool of cards, it really only would punish the deck you want to punish that way, so sure.

It's also the closest I can get to taking down Mermails short of: 'Mermail cards have their effects negated'. I understand that if more Sea-Serpent stuff comes out, it could be too much; but until that day, this'll have to do. Thanks for the advice.
