PrimeAceJohn
It's a simple way to draw, really. At the cost of banishing a card and drawing a card (in which your opponent's knows since it must be revealed), I don't think it's way too bad + your whole back row has to be empty. Tell me what you think! OLD VERSION SPELL Activate only while do not control any cards in your Spell & Trap zone. Without either player looking, set the first 5 cards from the top of your Deck and set them in your Spell & Trap zone face-down. Your opponent must target 1 set card, reveal it, and add it to your hand. Then your opponent must target another set card and banish it (the remaining cards or shuffled into the Deck). You can only activate the effect of "Devious Dealing" once per turn. NEW VERSION Activate only while you have at least 5 unused card spots on your Without either player looking, set the first 5 cards from the top of your Deck and set them in the open card spots face-down. Your opponent must target 1 set card, reveal it, and add it to your hand. Then your opponent must target another set card and banish it (the remaining cards or shuffled into the Deck). You can only activate the effect of "Devious Dealing" once per turn.
Aix
Most likely wouldn't be used, except in a Deck that wants to have some cards banished or otherwise doesn't mind having cards banished, cuz stuff like DWs and Exodia don't accidentally want to banish one of their key cards. I don't really understand why it might matter if you look and you may as well have the lore as: If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: Pick up the top 5 cards of your Deck, your opponent randomly adds 1 of them to your hand, banishes another, and shuffle the rest into your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Devious Dealings" per turn. It's really a bland and rather silly and pointless card. Don't like.

That whole back row sh*t was only to make the card more balanced in a way it would be harder to use. Not all the time will you have your back row filled with at least 1 card. Though I like your clause better, but I wanted the whole point of this to be a random chance. If you pick the top 5 he/she could banish the best 1 you have and add to your hand the worst one, which is really, really dumb and in which won't be even run-able. And the card was primarily supposed to be bland, like I said, it's a simple draw/banish power. I'll have to think for about the card and how to make it better, but as for now, I have to keep it like this.
Judαs
I don't really understand why it might matter if you look and you may as well have the lore as: If you control no Spell/Trap Cards: Pick up the top 5 cards of your Deck, your opponent randomly adds 1 of them to your hand, banishes another, and shuffle the rest into your Deck. You can only activate 1 "Devious Dealings" per turn. It really makes more sense to word it his way. It still remains a random chance. When your opponent randomly picks a card(s), you have the printed sides facing you and the backs facing them, so I don't see how they could pick the best/worst etc. Also the 'new' version's first sentence doesn't make sense; "when you have 5 unused spots in your" what? You could word it like Spatial Collapse: "When the total number of cards you control is less than [x]/does not exceed [x]: [effect]". About the actual effect, it just seems awkward. It's just a weird kind of Upstart Goblin, which would fit in Elemental Dragons and Chaos Zone (you have not stated whether the card remains banished face-down). If it doesn't, it probably has some potential use.
When wording Normal Spell cards that have single uses: "You can activate only 1 "[x]" per turn." The "use the effect of" wording is used for the effects of monster cards and continuous S/T (which is similar to the difference between activating a card and activating the effect of a card.) Yeah, I honestly had no clue how to word it. I wanted it to be so you have a random chance, but setting face-down in the banished zone sounds...weird (and yes I know "It's not like your card is weird enough as it is") but I like it - thanks for the suggestions; I'll use it:)
