Mecha Phantom Beast X-parrow

WIND

1/0/0

Machine/Effect

If you control a Token Monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If you do, the only monsters you can summon for the rest of the turn must be Machine-Type. Once per turn, you can Tribute a Machine-type monster to target 1 "Phantom Beast" monster in your Graveyard; attach that target to an Xyz Monster you control. This card cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects while you control a Token. If this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 "Mecha Phantom Beast Token" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0).

The card's name is based off the X37B, a US Airforce plane capable of space travel, and a sparrow.

Mecha Phantom Beast Hur-roc

WIND

8/2700/2300

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-tuner "Phantom Beast" monsters

When this card is Synchro Summoned; Special Summon any number of "Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens" (Machine-Type/WIND/Level 3/ATK 0/DEF 0). Once per turn, if a "Phantom Beast" monster is Tributed; draw 1 card. During either player's turn: you can tribute a "Mecha Phantom Beast" monster and target 1 monster on the field; increase or decrease its Level by 1, also increase or decrease its ATK by 400. This effect of "Mecha Phantom Beast Hur-roc" can only be activated once per turn.

The card's name is based off the C-12 Huron cargo plane and a roc.

Seems like its just a Mecha Phantom Beast version of Overlay Regen.
Mostly, because you can just Tribute itself to Target itself(since its now in the Graveyard), and proceed to attach it.
Though, this could actually be played more efficiently since Mechas can just toolbox the Deck/Graveyard whenever they feel like it.

It'd be like Zombie Master where there has to be a legal target first-

Zombie Master doesn't tribute itself, though O,o

Should I amend it to Token/other PB monster, or leave it as is?

You could leave it as-is since the Xyz Material's Level doesn't matter, as your still attaching something regardless.
Though, you say you Tribute a Machine and Target a monster, to make it at the same time in order to prevent the scenario I mentioned. Since it being Tribute to Target, means you can pick itself.

Yeah, but you've still gotta have a valid target to even activate the effect in the first place.

But the real question is whether the ability to Tribute itself is inherently a BAD thing for MPBs to have in the first place. Then again, you can make a TON of tokens by doing that (once for the tribute, and once on whatever you detach). Eh, I'll leave it as is, since the worst it is is Token generation.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to be clear, you must choose the same thing for both? Otherwise, it looks not too bad, doesn't protext your token like Concoruda but that's fine because this thing can beat.

Correct. It has to go up by 400 and up by one level, or down by 400 and down a Level.

I also made a quick, but hilarious change.
