[Thar] Mist Kitsune, Neko (might as well)

Uhm, your card is kinda messed up in terms of wording. As it's written, the monster would have to be face-up for this to work, but you say it needs to reveal itself, which makes the effect impossible. Rather, you should put that in the end of the effect instead, like so: "You can only activate this effect of "Mist Kitsune, Neko" once per turn". Now, this may change your intention in case you wish to be able to reveal more of them in your hand, but that is actually a concept I'm quite sure doesn't excist, since your hand is never public knowledge to your opponent, meaning you could have only one in your hand that you keep revealing, which would be cheating, so as far as I am aware of, the way you worded it makes is an improbable way of wording your card. I just checked DN, and found this card called Golden Ladybug, now this card stays revealed, and because of how revealing cards in your hand works, you cannot reveal an already revealed card, so you can do it that way to make it so you can activate another one you have in your hand, if that is what you wish to do. Now, another problem I have with your wording is that you put "from your hand" in parentheses, where normally you would not. You see, this only applies to Inherrent Summons, where with other kinds of effects, you simply don't put that in, not a big deal, but your card looks weird the way it's written right now.

The effect itself? It's pretty meh. I would never want to Tribute a monster just for a discard, even if the discard would make me able to choose and look at their whole hand, but this is neither random, nor do you choose; your opponent does, meaning that you might end up helping your opponent for the most part. The burn is just random really, and only makes your opponent able to activate more effects that might negate it (you would still lose your monster if that way the case, as it's a cost to activate). The only way that would be useful, would be if the burn was bigger in some way, but still retaining balance of course (Looking at you Dark Strike Fighter).

You should look into the About OCG thread, it would help you quite a lot really, but for now, I have fixed it for your:

You can Tribute 1 monster you control (put in "you control" because I assume you mean as such) and reveal this card in your hand (I changed it to say in, as the card still remains in your hand after activation); your opponent discards 1 card from their hand and you inflict 500 damage to your opponent.
