In my eyes he is' date=' and thats precisely the point CD;

OPINIONS.

The entire thread is based on opinions, and Horus did not take that into account when making this thread;

hence why this below is totally true;

Can't go insulting other people's tastes in music while defending your own, that's called being a hypocrite.

[/quote']

actually it's you who's bieng hypocrite, i and you know there is good and bad rap right, but the fact is that you are ignoring good rap due to the fact that some rap is bad. it's like me saying that techno is bad because out of the 3 songs i heared 2 suck.

so you will come to me and say know because you haven't heared the good but only the bad, well same is happening. you know not all rapper are "drunk idiot spewing (derogatory terms towards women|drug-related terms|alcohol-related terms|swear words) into a microphone to a beat" but only some are. so by only judging the whole rap music because of some bad rappers you are bieng a hypocrite.

I am asking you to go and listen to these rap artists-

T-Pain, Chris Brown, Kanye West and Akon.

most of thier songs are highly entertaining and fun to listen too. so try them and these songs are very good-

"Shawty Get Loose", "I'm Sprung", "Stronger", "Goodlife", "With You" and "Smack That". these are fun and nice songs to have on your MP3. they arent exactly rap but are more of R&B but it's all under the same catagory RAP.

Lawl, you named the worst songs for examples. I would know it, my brother is addicted to rap, like the rest of the US's 10 year-old population. All those "artists" ARE drunk idiots spewing (derogatory terms towards women|drug-related terms|alcohol-related terms|swear words) into a microphone to a beat.

I'm not being a hypocrite. I'm not defending my tastes, just stating a slur of facts and opinions about yours in an attempt to irritate you and get a debate going. I do believe it's working.

Your post is...

CanOFailNoobscopy.png

I have become extremely irritated reading those "92% of teenagers have moved on to rap music..."

Surprise! That's not true!

But that's not the topic of this discussion. The topic is that Rap is not' date=' in fact, "Retards Attempting Poetry."

If anyone thinking that has ever listened to an actual good rap song, I would be surprised. You probably heard "Crank Dat" and said, "ewwwwthissucks".

You are right.

But then you continue by saying that all rap is bad. That is, in fact, untrue.

I used to think rap was stupid...when I was an immature 10 year old.

Do you all want to be immature 10 year olds?

I'm not trying to convince anyone to listen to rap, I'm just saying there needs to be some tolerance among you young "haters". Those of you who think Blink-182 or some other terrible 'music' is the best ever and that every other group is bad.

Seriously.

Rap is not bad. It's music. And quite frankly, it's better than a lot of what people claim to be 'music'.

[/rant']

(The links in this post contain interesting material. Viewer discretion is advised.)

And now you're what? 11, 12, 13?

Back up your reasoning. Calling us immature 10 year-olds doesn't work when you put no reasoning behind it. If you wish to debate, do it well.

Can't go insulting other people's tastes in music while defending your own, that's called being a hypocrite.

Rap is not music, it's some drunk idiot spewing (derogatory terms towards women|drug-related terms|alcohol-related terms|swear words) into a microphone to a beat, that some people refer to as mildly entertaining due to the fact that mass marketing has melted their minds and the 'music' itself has destroyed all other appreciation for the art form.

Win? Yes. Stop being a bunch of 13 year-old boys and be quiet.

Keep in mind I wrote this post for the lulz, and because you are so wrong in so many ways.

( A ) What do I need to back up? I'm stating complete and utter fact *opinion when I say that not all rap sucks.

( B ) Did you miss the point that I'm trying to put along? I'm trying to say that there is a difference between what you dislike and what is bad.

( C ) I'm getting at tolerance. Just because you don't like rap, doesn't mean it sucks.

( D ) OPINION IS NOT FACT. OPINION IS OPINION. FACT IS FACT.

( E ) I used to think rap sucks. I was 10. I found Immortal Technique and some other rappers and I like them. Other rappers I dislike, but that doesn't mean they suck.

( F ) Sure, some rappers suck. But so does *do lots of rock bands too.

( G ) By the way, I'm 16.

A. You're wrong, actually. The quality of music is subjective, and as such, it's each individual's opinion whether or not it's good or bad. Music is music, but the word music implies instruments with vocals, not the aforementioned material.

B. I didn't miss the point. And as I said earlier, each individual decides upon the quality of the music, and may try to influence others, but it's entirely subjective.

C. Tolerance hasn't anything to do with the matter. Read A and B.

D. Agreed... because that's obvious, and anyone who doesn't believe it is, to put it bluntly, and idiot.

E. You were 10 when you disliked rap? Congrats, you lasted longer than most. And once again, because it's subjective, it's up to you if they suck. And don't say it isn't subjective, because it is entirely and in every way.

F. Once again, you can't insult music while you're attempting to back up rap.

G. Could've fooled me.

iWin.

Yeah? Yeah.

Quote & Bump.

Rap isn't bad, just people don't like it.

Too many people listen to the 'fake' rap (ex. crank dat)

Good rap was the old stuff like Tupac and Ludaris.

Now it's all a bunch of garbage.

I used to listen to rap, but no good songs come out and there are not many good rappers.

Now I'm into Trance, Dance, and Euro. ^_^

I don't like Rap, but a couple of songs are pretty good. There's hardly any "good rap" that is actually good, songs that have meaning. I like Eminem, but only the songs that show meaning, or they're funny. A couple songs to name by him that I like are Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Just Loose It, etc. I'm not saying all rap is stupid, but 95% of it actually is. "Rappers" at this moment are ruining human intelligence. Around 92% of teenagers do listen to Rap Music, which is why most of the 92% is either failing school, or they dropped out. Alot of people have lost interest in the true "Good Music", which in my opinion, is Classical Music. Beethoven and many others are the music which should be given credit as "Fantastic" or "Amazing", but nobody cares because they all listen to crappy songs that talk about having sex with Prostitutes, doing drugs, or killing people.

I'm sure that alot of Rock-Music, or other types, are horrible, and I agree, but some actually have interesting sounds, or they're songs have meaning for the creation. I'll give an example of music I listen to:

Beethoven

Bullet For My Valentine

Guns n' Roses

"Some" Eminem

The Old Linkin' Park

That's just a few examples of the music I listen to. The reason why I've said before "R.A.P = Retards Attempting Poetry", is because if you actually listen to the songs nowadays, you can hear them make up, or edit, words that are already created to make it rhyme. They spread the foul language throughout the world. Parents wonder why their own children act different and respond with foul language and tempers, and this is why. I admit that there have been "True Rappers" like Tupac, who shows meaning as well, and many others, but now, it's getting completely ridiculous.

If you look at an award's show, if a "New-Gen" rapper wins an award, guess what he says? "I'd like to thank God", why? Do they really think God respects the way they act? No, I don't think so. I'm sick of everyone saying "Shut up, Rap is way better than Rock", which is basically an opinion, that is un-true. Over 50% of Rock Music has meaning, shows love, talks about love, or they express their feelings.

Rap in itself is not actually bad' date=' its a form of 'music' of which some people listen to and like.

What you MUST remember Horus, is peoples tastes.

I do not like chicken, therefore i hate it, its the same with films, books and of course Music.

People are entitled to hate whatever they choose too.

Its no good complaining about the power of Free Will.

I have heard many Raps songs, and of course, dislike them all as im a full on Elektro-Head.

R'n'b is the worst excuse for 'music' though, rap is better.

[/quote']

Because you don't like something doesn't mean it is bad.

I don't like Magical Explosion, but its a good card.

I do not like hitler, but he was bad

It all depends on the way you look at things, again, personal choice, personal opinion, free will.

But Fascism was and is good.

Perception =/= free will.

Perception is the ability to see the world, free will is a concept that may or may not be real, as the ongoing debate between free will and Determinism.

Encyclopedia Dramatica wins nothing. It is the biggest waste of unfunny racist bandwith to ever exist. Anyone who can even utter than whites > colored people is as flawed in thought as white people are in genetics.

After finishing reading the rest of this, I have realized that this entire topic is a failure of a debate.

Blink 182, slipknot, Fall out boy, simple plan, hawthorne heights, Jay - Z, Chester Bennington, Nas, The Dropkick Murphys, and T.I all fail. Period. This is fact, if you like these groups, part of your taste in music is bad, because it is different than mine.

Now can we have a real debate, that isn't everyone being like ZOMG D3B@T3 W1NN3R CUZ I SHOWED THAT KR@MAH MADE 1 HYPOCRITIC@L ST@T3M3NT!

Get serious.

^Seriously, I never found this a debate, so we can't make a "real" one out of it. Debating what? Rap? The topic's first post is merely a message from HORUS to tell people to stop "hating" rap.

No, no one's gonna stop hating rap not even if he lost "the debate". Result: Pointless thread just for people arguing and acting "pwnz0rx hhahah i pwned that n00b", e.g. Darkthorne =/

I suggest this should be locked. Whoever's with me simply just suggest so, too.

'Nuff said.
