Strider Tigerwolf
After the thoughts and research I did on Goat Control as well as what I remembered from WAY back in yugioh history, I started to think about how to improve CF, especially since CF was created with the very intention of providing for a more “skillful” play with a more varied aspect. After stating that, the idea of updating CF came to mind and took into fruition. However, after seeing how different it would make CF, I've decided to actually give that format it's own name and it's own thread...this one. For now, welcome to Restrict Format (also nick named New Goat Control apparently) Like in Chance Format, deck making is similar. It's also similar to CF!V!! Deck building, though not entirely the same. Now for the Rules. Also all duels are played in UNLIMITED on DN. [spoiler=Da Rules] 1.) Main/Extra Deck are allowed to contain (both combined): 0-1 Game Breakers 0-4 Limiters 0-4 Skills 0-8 Supporters 3 copies of only 1 Unlimited Card 2.) All other cards now have a MAX Copy Capacity of 2. 3.) Extra Deck monsters cannot attack the turn they are Summoned from the Extra Deck. So far, I've faced both new and old decks and have found that the duels seem to go past the 10th turn, but again it's too early to tell. So, just like in CF, let's discuss RF. ALSO! Are there problem cards that should be on the list?
Aix
With Vylon Element on the list, I don't see the need for banning Kay'est. With so many differences, it'd be hard to tell how good this is without testing it first.
Strider Tigerwolf
Hmm...I suppose...I'll unlimit it for now.
Strider Tigerwolf
It's official. Restrict Format it is. Also updated by adding Magical Exampler and Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode to the list.
Aerion Brightflame
Couple of things I'm wondering about: Namely: Why is Galaxy Expidition ban-worthy? O.o Though I do love the idea of Photon's being list worthy. And two, why have you banned Miracle Synchro Fusion, but not the Miracle Fusion? Given that you've taken away the arguably most problematic target for the former. I mean, is Axon really worse than Shining from a design perspective? (Given that's how I think you've approached this list) Also... you've brought back Glow-Up, as well as making stuff like Mezuki usable at 2? The first better have a good explanation, given it's a splashable tuner with a no cost resurrection. Also, given that Gogogo Zombies are still a really good, if not amazing deck here with the later of the two. .... I think, this list it's kinda... Flawed solely for the reason that the catagories aren't as good as the existing ones. Certain cards are problematic at certain numbers that this list makes possible. Tbh. This is just to complicated. Chance Format works, because it's not anything overwhelmingly different. The trying to remake Goat format era skill, is flawed, because the current card card pool doesn't work to that. If you want to play goat format, then just play with cards from that time. You can't remake it, without making the game unnecessarily complicated. Strider Tigerwolf
O.o Mezuki and Miracle Synchro should be Limiters...I'll correct that in a bit. Also, Glow-Up because it's a very useful card that can be run in several decks. Also, with Beast, and several problem synchros gone the card is more tame and useful without being totally broken. As for Expedition: Getting beaters like Galaxy-Eyes Dragon out of your deck is just downright silly. It's also the biggest hit to the deck since I'm allowing Galaxy-Eyes to remain untouched. Aerion Brightflame
No offence. That's terrible logic about Glow-Up You've given Piper Glow-Up Bulb. Hecne meaning if they wanted they can go into Synchro's. Like Formula for more draw power. Also: Catasor, Keeper of Illusions, Android. Those 3 are good level 5 synchro's that you can make just for getting Bulb in grave and having a level 4 in hand. It's not good card design, at all. And I'm making the assumption your hits are more around card design rather than impact in game. I disagree with the Expidition logic, partially since I trialed the deck in CF, and they were stupidly inconsistent, even by there standards. But ignore me on that point mostly. Also... why does Tengu need a ban? When it's really tame at 2. You could slap it into any of the categories and it's fine. And you can really justify it in the same manor as you have with Glow-up, in that it's a useful card that can be run in several decks... (Yes, I'm picking at that logic, but it's just not a good reason. It's a +1 tuner that could be put into any deck. That shouldn't exist)
Strider Tigerwolf
Actually, I forgot about Piper *hits Kinka-Byo* Also, Glow-Up is back to aid Synchros because they've all lost much of their power by not being able to attack first turn. They are powerful, yes, but more predictable. Giving them a bit more consistency isn't a bad thing and Glow-Up does that where it's currently at. Remember, this is more restrictive for a reason. It's also the same reason why I brought back Restrict, Sangan and Magician of Faith. Add to that, when we look back at Goat Control format, several broken cards were out as well like Delinquent Duo, Graceful Charity, Cyber Jar, etc. So why was that format so good? Because even with those broken cards out, you had to actually think through the game, where you weren't sacked with monsters out of nowhere, and advantage actually was more passive (which reminds me...I need to hit Shard of Greed). That type of format is what I'm trying to achieve here, and Glow-Up, Restrict, Magician of Faith, and Sangan all aid in that. They are powerful cards, but have to be used concretely and decisively in order for them to be effective. That's why I brought them back, and it's also why I've either banned or hit other things as well, namely the Elemental Dragons, Fire Fist, Prophecy, and Merlans, though not only these. Strider Tigerwolf
I killed Spellbooks a bit too much with the banning of Secrets. I'll give them back some fuel: Secrets to Skill, Spellbook Star Hall unlimited...and Spellbook of the Master to 0.

Strider Tigerwolf
After some thought, here are some changes: Spellbook of Life - Unlimited Deck Devistation Virus - Banned Epidemic Eradicator Virus - Banned. Toon Table of Contents - Skill Heavy Storm is now banned.
Aerion Brightflame
Heavy should stay. Solely because it prevents Set 5 pass from happening. That's not a test of skill, it's less skill arguably than other formats, because suddenly you set without any other hassle.
Strider Tigerwolf
I'll see how it goes. Heavy is a tricky concept to play with, but arguably it's similar to Dark Hole. I want to see the impact before anything. I'm keeping this opened for just another week to finish the ban list. Then I'll be locking it.
Zazubat
Does this effect the tournament in any way now that this is the new "Chance Format"? Because my Deck can't be played now, as I have some stuff that's banned.
