You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 face-up Xyz Monster you control. You can only Special Summon "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare" once per turn this way. When you do: You can Special Summon 1 "Gimmick Puppet Nightmare" from your hand or Graveyard. If this card is Special Summoned, you cannot Special Summon any monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Gimmick Puppet" monsters.

Whelp, I love it.
Especially the whole "for the rest of the turn" part, since you could make Lavalval Chain to mill a Nightmare, then Tribute it for a Nightmare in your Hand to make Strings/Grinder.

the lavalval chain move is important because it wouldnt be likely without egghead and scissor arms.

 

but yes, nightmare is incredible. the fact that it can pull from the grave (where you want most of them) is very cool.

I feel like they need maybe one more Rank 8 at the moment for variety's sake because of the Gimmick Puppet only restrictions on Dreary Doll and Nightmare. Grinder is great for what it does and Strings works as a beatstick but you're never going to summon Leo unless against like Countdown.

Nightmare itself is great, I just feel like with the restriction they need maybe one more solid option to go into.

that can be mitigated by the fact that magne, egghead, gear changer, and teched gearsprings can go into most anything else. the nice thing about getting all this support is while necro becomes more usable it also becomes less central.

Additional Nightmares can be very easily put in graveyard using Scissor Arms and Egg Head plus this card pretty much can set up every other turn with enough graveyard manipulation. Also art is fantastic. MORE GIMMICK SUPPORT, HOORAY!

Nice. It can be SSed by Tributing any Xyz, and if you do, you get another Nightmare, which can easily be placed into the Graveyard via Trade-In or the other Gimmick Puppets. Even better is that the restriction only applies for the rest of the turn, so you can SS anything you want before using Nightmare, and the Gimmick Puppet restriction is only for that turn so if you don't Xyz, next turn you can use them for any Rank 8.

 

Also, this may make Number 22 much more playable. And Number 88, but 88 is a Gimmick Puppet.
