No offense, but I can kind of understand why when I see your cards.

It is kind of hard to make a good, usable, non-broken card that would probably actually see play.

And unfortunately, Konami is a money whore and wouldn't do stuff unless it profited them. Like Spellbrokes or E-F*gs.

They occasionally hold contests for people. Not sure when/etc.

It's a thing in Japan, mainly. Bird of Roses and Drill Synchro/Warrior are examples, hence wht the latter is so TTGL. But those were just art contests, iirc, but I could be wrong. And I don't trust people to make cards because most people that do have a horrible, self promoting agenda when designing that likely isn't good for the game, so I'm glad we have jack all to do with KONAMI.
