Master Hyperion Posted June 6, 2013 Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 When your opponent Special Summons a monster(s) with 2000 or more ATK: Negate the effects of one of those monsters with 2000 or more ATK, and if you do, destroy it. If a Normal Monster or a monster without an effect with 2000 or more ATK is Special Summoned, "Void Trap Hole" cannot be activated. Also, if a monster with 2000 or more ATK without an effect that activates upon its successful Special Summon is Summoned, "Void Trap Hole" can be activated.[2] The bolded part is extremely important because in this format where all the problem cards with high ATK are common this basically becomes a 2nd Solemn Warning (sort of). There's not that many that activate their effects apon Summon anyway, so it's not that much of a big deal. There's not that many that activate their effects apon Summon anyway, so it's not that much of a big deal. again, the monster doesnt need to have an effect that works off of the summon for void trap hole to hit it. it just needs to be an effect monster that can be negated. its terrific in maneaters and i guess decks that are already backrow heavy and need a way to keep monsters off the field could try it. I know it doesn't, but why use this over BTH when BTH gets 1500 and gets all monsters summoned at once? Of course you want to use it in Maneaters, I mean it's their second/third best card. It has it's uses, as said, Monarch and Rose will hate this, but that said, how many other cards with 2000+ have effects that trigger on Summon that you should actually be afraid off to warrant you playing this?
