Drummers?

Gospel.

Recommended Posts

So yeah, since this site's music community is pretty rad, I'd just like to know how many drummers there are. Any level of experience; do you play for a living, or just here and there? How long have you been playing? Setups? Styles of music?

Recently I've been playing for two bands. One is a local pop-punk group out of Taylor TX (just outside my hometown) called "Revenge Is Not A Sin," and the other is a prog/djent/core band called "Apples" yes...apples. The djent project is only about a month old and we're just starting to learn about each other skill-wise, so there isn't any material to view :\

My current setup:

Drums:

-Old Sonor that I restored and refinished- sounds amazing.

-12x9 Rack Tom

-14x14 Floor Tom (that actually tunes low enough so i can run a 4 piece with the 12")

-20x20 Bass Drum

14x5.5 Sonor Ascent snare drum

Cymbals (R-L)

-14" Zildjian A rock hats (HATE them)

-16" Paiste Alpha medium crash

-14" Wuhan x 10" Wuhan splash in a stack

-18" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash

-20" Meinl MB10 Bell Blast Ride

-17" Zildjian K Custom Dark China

Hardware

-Gibraltar Intruder double bass pedal with Iron Cobra beaters

-assorted tama, yamaha and sp stands

-pearl clamps

I've been playing drums for ~11 years now. I played percussion all through highschool which was pretty sweet since I learned how to play tons of different percussion instruments. I've been teaching drums at the local music store for a couple years now too.

I play in a deathcore band called Reasons Lost

and a prog metal band called Bloodmoon

I also play in a wedding band with my uncle to make some extra cash on the weekends. Playing mostly 50s and 60s pop music and blues. Its tons of fun.

Yeah, I'd have to say high school drumline was one of the best experiences of my life. I HATED concert band percussion though...

You guys sound really damn good btw.

I loved Concert band. Probably because the band leader was one of the coolest person I have ever met. He was a percussionist in University too so he taught me tons of techniques and little things to make me a better player.

And thanks for listening. I have a ton of new recordings ready to go but I'm not allowed to put them on the site yet.
