I wish there were better Rank 8s. So far, this is probably the best thing we have that's actually viable and doesn't take a crap load of effort to summon, or isn't Archetype specific (Giant Grinder).

Tachyon Dragon is a good Rank 8.

 

OT: Helio's really cool, cause it also doesn't target, and tributes its cards during resolution. It's kinda like Fate, in that sense.

With the release of Felgrand this is now the second best. Because Felgrand is amazing,

 

And it's actually dependant on which rank 8 you do. Gimmick's prefer Giant, Photons prefer this thing because much better synergy, and the tokens Sanctuary makes.

 

It's good in a group of mediocre cards.

Giant Grinder is generic (unless you meant something else by that).  This guy is definitely one of the better Rank 8's out there though.

Photon prefers Number 107 to this more often than not. Overlord is good, but not always the card you go to first, because Photons struggle with advantage enough as it is. Giant Killer is amazing in many situations, but really shines when it gets to eat Xyz. Felgrand I haven't tested yet.

 

Gimmicks prefer Giant Killer because the best Gimmick Puppets force you to limit your choices to Gimmick Puppets for the turn/always.
