Toffee.
If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish 1 other "Gimmick Puppet" monster from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. You can only use the effect of "Gimmick Puppet Dreary Doll" once per turn. This card cannot be used as an Xyz Material, except for the Xyz Summon of a "Gimmick Puppet" monster. You know... Compared to the edited anime version, the IRL counterpart pulled it off a lot better.Anyway, as far as Gimmick Puppets go, it's ridiculously easy to set this card up, since at the same time the bosses you play through it will also fuel it as well.Discuss. 玄魔の王
I actually think I like this edited art a lot. Any chance of coming TCG release?
hexcalibrate
with out this card, gimmick puppet wouldn't really work, this card makes gimmick puppets.
Sora1499
Sooooo. Dreary Doll IS Necro Doll, right? Or are they 2 different cards and I'm just being a buffoon?
evilfusion
Sooooo. Dreary Doll IS Necro Doll, right? Or are they 2 different cards and I'm just being a buffoon? They're the same card. One is the OCG name, the other is the presumed TCG one.
newhat
It tanks nicely if you have no plays to make, and you only need one to make the Deck work. It's probably the most important.

It's pretty much the only reason why you run Gimmick Puppets, lol.
玄魔の王
I really do wish this had the Vanadis clause instead of a Chain Dog clause (ie restrict other materials instead of what it can make).
~British Soul~
They're the same card. One is the OCG name, the other is the presumed TCG one. Presumed would be the right word, given that Dreary Doll was the dub name for her. OT: I reckon that we'll get this, the other Gimmick Puppet and the 2 OOPArts from PP15 in JOTL tbh. (And they'll be 96-99 in the set) Y'know to coincide with the release of Number Hunters.
evilfusion
I really do wish this had the Vanadis clause instead of a Chain Dog clause (ie restrict other materials instead of what it can make). It might be too good, then. It'd give Gimmick Puppets access to almost every Rank 8 with minimal effort. Cards like Number 22, Hieratic Overlord, Tachyon Dragon, Neo Galaxy-Eyes, plus the actual Gimmick Puppet Xyz. Rank 8s are really solid monsters. I still believe Gimmick Puppets are gimmicky from the start and never intended to be meta-level. But this way, they don't have to restrict all future Rank 8s to ensure Gimmick Puppets won't abuse them.
玄魔の王
Then they need 2 more good Xyz that aren't weak for no reason (Leo) or that don't take too long to do very little (Strings).
Toffee.
Chain Dog clause-Wrong clause, bro.Chain Dog has no "You can only use this card for X"-clause. Your thinking of more along the lines of Bearman. But anyway, whats with this card having such a clause? You can play either a monster that kills Special Summoned monster(IE, damn near almost anything) OR a 3000 beater O,oI still believe Gimmick Puppets are gimmicky from the start-It's funny, because they wanted them to be gimmicky, in addition to Rank 8-centric, as far as the anime goes.Though, their IRL counterparts ended up being more tame, while still retaining a lot of their anime goodness at the same time. Toffee.
Oh, silly me.... I've always used it as an Xyz Material to always keep it live, rather then kill it with it's own effect. Guess I forgot, apparently.

玄魔の王
Even if it's been made recently, new art makes it worth discussion.
