You can Special Summoned (from your hand) by having 2 or more of your Xyz Monsters banished. You can only control 1 "Starshadow Warrior". If this card was not special summoned, its effects are negated. This card gains ATK equal to half the total ATK of all face-up Xyz monsters you control. Each of these effects can be used once per turn.*Target 1 of your banished Xyz monsters; special summon that target in face-up defense position but its effect is negated* When you would take damage, increase this card's ATK by the amount of damage you would have taken, instead. This change lasts until the turn player's next Standby Phase.
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by having 2 or more of your Xyz monsters banished and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only control 1 "Starshadow Warrior".
Rulings notes: - The effect of gaining ATK equal to the ATK of all face-up xyz monsters you control is a continuous effect: the amount of ATK gained changes if the total ATK of the xyz monsters you control changes. - The effect that negates damage doesn't use the chain (similar to union monsters, the six samurai's shared effect, and gachi gachi gantetsu) but its still optional. You choose weather or not to use it when a damage inflicting effect resolves or when battle damage is applied. - If an effect inflicts a variable amount of damage (e.g. dice jar), you choose weather or not to use the damage negating effect after the amount of damage to be inflicted is determined. - The effect that negates damage cannot be activated when that "Starshadow Warrior" is destroyed by battle, based on the precedent on Stardust Dragon vs Red Dragon Archfiend found here: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Stardust_Dragon I got the idea for this card from the way Yuma, Shark, and Kaito defeat Dr. Faker. Zazubat
Effect & Use: I kind of fear that if you're ever going to play this, you need some sort of dedicated Deck for it, and while this card is plenty powerful, it can dead draw very very easily, which isn't a bad thing, since your effect is as said powerful. When you actually manage to play it, what it does can bring back EEV targets, Rank-Up targets, Acid Golems, Fortune Tune-like cards (that activate when destroyed), and of course cards to boost this guy's ATK. So you have many options to play around with, and the damage ATK gain is also very nice, and makes this guy hard to play around.Design: With above said, the design is very nicely done. You created a powerful monsters with good effects that take some build-up to actually achieve. The only control 1 means you cannot spam multple, which I like.Flavor & Image: It's a pretty generic looking warrior, when I hear Starshadow Warrior, I expect something a bit more epic, top of that, it's clearly in the clouds, not the stars, I don't know if you mean that clouds are the star shadow or what, but honestly, it's bad quality, and kind of meh for what this card is suppose to do, and the effect doens't really go into the image that well.Overall: I would have really liked this guy hadn't it been for the dedication you would need from this guy. While I like that it's powerful yet hard to Summon, it isn't playble, and that's the most important thing. I suggest maybe making you able to Normal Summon him, but without any effects, or something like that. (check My Version for how I would have made him)OCG fix: Hover your cursor over the dotted lines to read my reasons for the fixes. Make sure to hover over more than one part of the dotted lines, as it might put the things I have to say together. I do not repeat if you have made the flaw more than once, instead will it be bold (if any). Anything in italic is simple typos (if any). Anything in red means that it is something that is missing and should be there, as well as dotted lines to explain my reasoning/ask why you may have forgotten (if any). Also, if you have the time, check out my OCG Thread. Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. I Hate Snatch Steal
Thanks for a great review I *liked* it. However shooting star dragon disagrees with your "you can" correction http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Shooting_Star_Dragon I made him level 9 so that he's not an easy tragiodia target, since you do not want your opponent stealing him so permanently & easily. New version with better artwork coming soon. edit: the new version up, I changed the self negating clause so that it applied anytime he's not special summoned to avoid an exploit with interdimensional matter transporter. About the Shooting Star, well, it's pre PSTC, but I guess it is right. As you said before the bullet, they CAN be used, so I guess it's alright. Will have to look more into that I suppose.
