Last Day of Witch

Sure I can, and I just did. Need to see me do it again?

Maxx the skill in this format lies in the interaction between the top decks.

This is because they are in a level of such power creep that NOTHING ELSE STANDS A CHANCE.

But among the Decks that DO stand a chance, the game becomes about who plays their cards better. You can't go around making big eye left and right, or leaving tokens out without a care.

There's skill in the format, but you don't see it because you think it cannot exist where power creep does. But that's wrong.

This, right here. This is what bothers me so much about the game the way it is. When Konami makes meta-worthy sets such as E-drags or Prophecy, there really doesn't become a point in playing anything else. It feels like they just said "Screw having fun and creativity, here's card that everyone will play nearly exclusively cause they're so good." That's why I like Magic so much: Anything can be good, if done right. There might be a few things that are god-tier decks, but for the most part you can put together just about anything you want.

But that doesn't mean the format isn't skillful actually. Nothing you just said disproves that the top tier decks are actually skillful when used against themselves and each other.

Best TCG post of 2013.

Is this still played for an out to Jowgen and Kycoo? I forget because last time I heard it was either Lightning Vortex or Last Day.\

Lightning Vortex is used. After all, Dragons don't care as much for hand advantage.

Now now, why is it that the top tier decks are the only ones that can be skillful in a mirror match while when up against other decks, they have a tendency to tear a new one if they don't sack (Though Spellbooks without Judgment are undermeta and quite skillful)?

Also, I can see why people side this.  Maybe I should add to side deck?

I mean Spellbooks with Judgment are still pretty skillful. =/ You'd have to be really dumb to believe otherwise with the amount of bad hands they can start off with.

And it'd be a better idea to play LV if you can because of the bigger range of decks it hits, but honestly it's probably just a better idea to play DNA Surgery + EEV if you're a casual deck.

I know that feeling, trust me.  Bad hand is if you start off with something like two fates, power, wisdom, tower and another spellbook card that isn't a Spellcaster-type or doesn't go into one.  I tend to get those half of the time :/  But yes, even with Judgment it does take skill to play.  But it obviously takes more skill to play the Deck without Judgment.

Bad hands in Prophecy are common - you open Jowgen. That's about the worst thing that can happen because even if you do open all your other stuff Jowgen is kind of a win condition and if you normal summon it it's in Attack so you can get over it easily and you can't summon the Magician which could be essential.
