Tentacruel
I like to think of myself as being secure enough about my masculinity that I can say men are attractive without being attracted to them. I also like to think of myself as being secure enough to act ironically flamboyant for no reason other than to shame people who are too insecure to do so. ~ P O L A R I S ~
Anyways, I'm simply as straight as an arrow, but I'm not a fan of human interaction so I come off as almost asexual. You would be a rotting infant corpse without the help of human interaction. At least try to appreciate any graces you can glean from it, even if it's just a few. Actual discrimination? Sure, fight it. People having opinions is not discrimination though, and you can't use your opinion as an excuse to discriminate. So when does it become discrimination? What signal should we look for that flips our fighting switches? As soon as an opinion discriminatory in nature is expressed, it's discrimination IMO. Waiting until such opinions manifest themselves as violence is akin to waiting until a bomb goes off before responding to it.

To accept that notion would be to accept the notion that people can't respect each others' opinions at all. Thinking something is wrong or not agreeing with something is not discrimination. Actively trying to, for lack of a better term, f*** with people or being purposely antagonistic towards people because of a certain category is. You could sit in your basement ranting about the Jews and how they're secretly controlling everything but you wouldn't be discriminating. You'd be racist, but not actually discriminating against anyone. Hell you could even go telling everyone what you think about "the Jews" but that still wouldn't be discrimination. The moment you actively start trying to give Jewish people a harder time or lobbying for anti-Semitic policies or legislation, or even being a dick towards Jewish people, then you're being discriminatory. People have different moral stances and beliefs. It would be VERY bad to try to force everyone into one line of thinking. At some point you just have to agree to disagree. Fusion X. Denver
I'm with the people who concur that sexuality shouldn't be made out to be a big deal or a label. It's simply another facet to the person that you are. I saw this image the other day. Harry Potter knows what's up.
Bull3tM0nk3y
I might need some proof for that image. Also, I might request a lock on this thread. It's only going to make more and more wanting to just start a flame war.
~ P O L A R I S ~
Bulletmonkey: Nobody here is flaming, and if anyone were it would make more sense to ban them than to lock this thread. Desu: One particular individual's such ravings from his basement were called "Mein Kampf".

Being at odds with something doesn't necessarily mean you want to invoke discrimination. Would you say that animal rights activists discriminate against people who eat meat? Thar
Since it's relevant, I'm gonna share this article. It's a response by BioWare to a complaint about homosexual relationships in Dragon Age 2. http://www.nomorelost.org/2011/03/25/straight-male-gamer-told-to-get-over-it-by-bioware/

As Kevin Smith's movie Clerks said, "Once you go to the Nazi scale, there's no going higher in the argument level." Or something like that. D.A._Sakuyamon
This is towards all the people that are going on about how it shouldn't be a a label. Labels have been going on even before humans as a race were around. When an animal marks it's territory that's a label. A label saying this is my territory, stay the hell away. When your born your given a name, which is a label. & you cant change that label until you get old enough. As for your sexuality? Should it be a label? You cant say because it's already been made one. There is no getting away from labels.
~ P O L A R I S ~
Would you say that animal rights activists discriminate against people who eat meat? Of course. To do anything voluntary is to discriminate. We would all be dead if we never discriminated. I would however maintain that opinions do not constitute discrimination because they are constantly being involuntarily refined, however subtly, and so involve no invocation of free will. It's the expression of an opinion through any means that is discrimination, since it involves invoking the free will to isolate a thought construct that is already undergoing change as it is being expressed. You don't choose to think, you choose to do. Life is a river.
Tormented
Some of the worlds greatest minds are homosexual. But don't worry jesus is going to pound them into the ground or hell as it were. YOUR SAFE FOR ONCE HUMANNITYYYY ~ Jesus' ode to God Chapter 4 In all seriousness, discrimination is just a simple way of gaining ones own personal confidence. Don't worry maybe in 20/30 years sexuality would no longer need threads like this.
Marisa Kirisame-ze
The only advice I really have on this is just, well, dig people. Fancy people. Love humanity, man. Who cares about the gender of whom you're with? What matters is the person and what they embody as a person. Look, sexuality is this fluid thing that should never be pinpointed. I used to worry that if I called myself "gay" and then ended up with a guy, I'd be this huge fraud. And then "bisexual" just wasn't doing it for me because, well, sexuality really can't be defined. It's not black and white. It never will be. And what's great about this is that it's not even a big deal. You're the same person, no matter who you date. Love who you wanna love. The people worth your time won't give you shit for it. Experiment, love people, and love freely.
Akira
I like my boys slim and young looking (as you all know, I'm totes gay for traps) but I prefer women a little curvier and grown up looking. Strange huh?
Silverweed91
I couldn't give a crap about what sexuality a person is unless I was posing a sexual interest in them. AND vice-versa, you mean. :P I'm sure there's a term for it, but for the life of me, I don't know it. "Pansexual", I think.
